New country, old problems.

Cruising on a sail boat means repairing at the most wonderful places in the world. This saying, sadly, becomes truth. But finally, we are on Menorca. After a few repairs on Sardinia, we set off for Spain. Just under 200 nautical miles are ahead of us. The weather window is not ideal, because there is little wind, but let's just say: it doesn't get any better than this! Until dusk everything is well. But then the autopilot stops again, and later the engine won't start. It's like a jinx. But in the darkness of the second day we reach Menorca safely. In the meantime we have also got the engine running. But then we suddenly find ourselves sitting on sand while anchoring. At least Cingene, our boat dog, gives us a great deal of pleasure during the crossing. To get an electrician on board, we sail to Mahon, the capital of Menorca. And we are very enthusiastic about it. In contrast to the technical service, which seems to have found the problem why the engine won't start. But they want to talk us into a battery that we don't even need. That would be all right if he didn't charge us 550 euros for the battery, which usually costs only half as much. Unfortunately, we also miss the next weather window to sail on to Mallorca. And then the autopilot goes on strike again.
