Impeller Change Fail on Volvo Engine. Replacing Pulley and Screw Head on Boat's Raw Water Pump

How do you change an impeller on a water pump? My advice is if it ain't broke don't fix it! I wish I'd heeded my own advice on this maintenance job. A yearly engine service showed the impeller was fine, but I thought I'd change it anyway. WHY?!
