@boatfools  #sailboatforsale #sailing #customsailboat [[SOLD 07/10/2025]] A Custom SAILBOAT Like No Other: This is one SPECIAL boat presented with a UNIQUE offer. What does that mean? There is no price set for this sailboat. BUT, a reasonable offer and a sailing resume must be presented to the seller. Details are below! This custom 32-foot wooden, gaff-rigged sloop is a BEAUTY. Not only that, she was designed and built over the course of 28 years by the current owner, Dan Thompson, who was not only a naval architect and designer for Sparkman & Stephens, he also worked as a naval architect for Bath Iron Works for 20 years. Suffice to say Dan knows a thing or two about making strong and beautiful boats. After MERLIN was launched in 2010, he and his wife, children, and grandchildren spent the next 12 summers sailing the coast of Maine. Made of Atlantic white cedar, sourced from Vinalhaven, Maine, on white oak framing, she is one solid boat. Her spars are carbon fiber and her diesel engine only has 324 hours on it. Her sails are in good shape and she's stored indoors. In short, this stunning sailboat is ready for its next adventure. Just launch and go! Of course, we always recommend a marine survey! Ok, here are some details about MERLIN: -Sleeps six persons -Hull: Atlantic cedar on white oak framing with silicon bronze -Length of hull without jib boom: 32 feet -Displacement: 13,300 pounds -Engine: 25 horsepower diesel Westerbeke Universal M-25XPB-Engine hours 324 as of January 2024 -Gaff rig with sails by Doug Pope -Spars are carbon fiber -Mast height: 46 feet 6 inches; draft 4 feet 10 inches -Maine State registry: ME-16YGS-U.S. Coast Guard Hull Identification: MEZG00020581-Commissioned: 3 July 2010 [Library of books seen in the video are not included in the sale!] HOW TO MAKE AN OFFER: Please send a one page description of your sailing experience, whether you have owned a boat before, why you want the boat, how you are going to use it, where you are going to keep it, and how much are you willing to pay for it, along with home address, phone number, and three references. Please send this information to: [[SOLD]] As always, please be kind and courteous. This is a very, very special boat to Dan and, as one can imagine, it will not be easy for him to let her go. Many thanks for watching and for your support! -BoatFools Sailing Team
