Wir haben fünf Monate Zeit, sind uns aber im Klaren, dass wir nur einen Teil dieses riesigen Landes kennenlernen werden. Wir bevorzugen, ausgewählte Bereiche mit etwas Zeit zu erleben als unendliche Kilometer abzureißen. Was hier in Australien aufgrund der Unendlichkeit durchaus möglich wäre. Die Qualität der Straßen in Australien ist eine Zumutung – um nicht zu sagen lebensgefährlich. Ob kleine Nebenstraße oder 4-6 spurige Schnellstraße. Alle sind gespickt mit Schlaglöchern. Wenn es nicht rechtzeitig gelingt diesen auszuweichen, kracht unser Interstate One mit den Vor- oder Hinterrädern in diese hinein und man hat Sorge, dass die Radaufhängung unbeschadet überlebt. Am Straßenrand liegen immer wieder zerfetzte und aufgedunsene Kadaver von Kangaroos und Wombats, die dem Straßenverkehr zum Opfer gefallen sind. Wie die Schlaglöcher sind auch sie markiert. Brigitta war natürlich vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben passte als in meins. In den folgenden 6 Monaten hat Brigitta aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich über unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Insgesamt sind wir aktuell 4 ½ Jahre unterwegs. Ein Abenteuer folgt dem nächsten und wir genießen jeden Tag aufs Neue. Dieses Mal sollte es für eine Langfahrt sein, bei der Stehhöhe und Komfort eine größere Rolle spielen – er traut sich den Umstieg auf einen Katamaran. Satisfaction II is a 2015 Hanse 345 listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater. This is a modern, easy, and quick cruiser in impressive condition. The cockpit is big with twin wheels and a large boarding / swim platform. Lines are led aft to the winches directly in front of the helms. In addition, there is an auto-pilot and self-tacking headsail; so single-handed sailing couldn't be easier. In Satisfaction II we have a big list of significant extras and updates. In addition to the self-tacking headsail there is a 105% genoa for maximum upwind performance. For sliding away from the breeze there are two Norths asymmetric spinnakers – a running gennaker in a sock and a close reaching gennaker on a Selden furler. This is a very fun sail plan! Importantly, the full four winches are installed (most 345’s simply have two as standard). The house batteries and charging system have been professionally upgraded to lithium. The B&G Zeus 9” plotter in the cockpit was installed new in 2023. There is AIS and a large inverter. Down below is the preferred two cabin layout which allows for the massive head and shower space plus the cockpit storage which is accessible internally and via the cockpit. Engine hours are around 460. She was last anti-fouled and serviced in June 2025 and importantly the standing rigging was professionally replaced at the same time. Nach dem Einklarieren in Australien haben wir in „The Boats Works“ MariaNoa an Land stellen lassen und das Antifouling erneuert, die Propeller mit ihren Ropecuttern neu montiert, den Service beider Motoren gemacht und die Hülle polieren lassen. Hier am Steg des „Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club“ haben wir vor allem das Schiff leergeräumt. Containerweise haben wir Ausrüstungsgegenstände und persönliche Dinge weggeworfen, weil es einfach keinen finanziellen Sinn macht, diese für horrendes Geld nach Deutschland zu verschiffen. Es war absurd, sich von vielen teilweise neuwertigen Dingen zu trennen, die durchaus ihren Wert haben. Einen Caravan für ein halbes Jahr zu mieten, ist viel zu teuer. Wir suchen nach einem gebrauchten Wohnmobil („preloved“ wie es hier manchmal heißt) für unsere Roadtour durch Australien und werden es am Ende unserer Reise wieder verkaufen. Noch wissen wir nicht, wie groß es sein soll, wie alt und wie teuer. Aber es zeichnet sich langsam ab, dass uns eine Raumaufteilung wichtig ist, dass einerseits ein Bett ständig zur Verfügung steht und gleichzeitig eine Sitzgelegenheit mit Tisch, an dem ich arbeiten kann, wenn ich wieder einmal nachts nicht schlafen kann. Brigitta war natürlich vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben passte als in meins. In den folgenden 6 Monaten hat Brigitta aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich über unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Insgesamt sind wir aktuell 4 ½ Jahre unterwegs. Ein Abenteuer folgt dem nächsten und wir genießen jeden Tag aufs Neue.
