Unlike fiberglass boats that are primarily built around molds, it requires a highly skilled workforce to build an aluminum hull. In fact, an aluminum hull at Alubat spends nearly four weeks in the paint shop alone, that's typically the same amount of time it takes to build and commission a fiberglass boat of the same size.

Beim zweiten Anlauf stehen plötzlich alle Blicke auf uns: Unter großer Anteilnahme der Stegbesucher gelingt das Manöver schließlich sauber und wird mit Standing Ovations belohnt. Anschließend folgt eine rasante Fahrt entlang der Küste nach St. Augustine, der ältesten Stadt der USA. In der Dämmerung suchen wir die schmale Einfahrt zwischen brechenden Wellen und flachen Stellen, volle Konzentration ist gefragt. Der Höhepunkt: das Bojenmanöver bei Dunkelheit vor der berühmten Bridge of Lions. Viel Spaß und gute Unterhaltung an Bord!
