Day in the Life of a Sailorgirl This is pretty much what it looks like - one day of living on a boat in the Caribbean in a one-minute video. Wracktauchen... In dieser Episode möchte ich Euch entführen in die geheimnisvolle Unterwasserwelt der Wracks vor Porto Santo! Ich tauche seit 1971 und habe so einige Tauchgänge auf meinem Konto. In der letzten Zeit habe ich hauptsächlich Arbeitstauchgänge an Segelyachten durchgeführt. Die sogenannten "Lusttauchgänge" kamen oft zu kurz. Nun habe ich hier auf Porto Santo endlich einmal wieder die Gelegenheit ein paar entspannte Wracktauchgänge zu machen. Im "Cipreia" Tauch-Club hier auf Porto Santo, direkt am Hafen, habe ich eine sehr professionelle TauchCrew kennengelernt. Wir haben uns sofort sehr gut verstanden und so hatte ich die besten Voraussetzungen für gute, sichere Tauchgänge. Hier im Cipreia Tauch-Club wird Freundlichkeit, Spass am Tauchen und Sicherheit besonders groß geschrieben. Ich kann den Club nur wärmstens empfehlen. In diesem Teil 1 der Tauchepisoden geht es um die vielen Fische am Wrack. In Episode 2... ist noch in Arbeit... geht's dann um das Tauchen an sich. The boats diesel engine, a Japanese farm engine, marinized, was hard to find parts for, and my batteries needed to be helped, with some being OK and others not. I went 'Solar + LiPo4' and a 48 volt system to push an electric inboard, put this vid is of 8 HP electric outboard on a hinged half an Avon that pretends to be a swim platform that can hold outboards.

Day one in Maui, and of course, I was drawn straight to the harbor. After nearly 24 hours of travel (including a mid-flight emergency where my old nursing skills kicked back in!), I landed at Maʻalaea Harbor — the second windiest harbor in the world. For me, this walk is more than just a look at boats. It's a connection to my roots. It's a grounding feeling of home, thousands of miles away from gypsy and my soul mate. It’s a reflection on why the ocean keeps calling me back — from growing up in Valdez, Alaska and Prince William Sound, to now living and creating aboard with Scott as we take on the unfolding journey of refitting our 80’ triple-masted Thomas Colvin schooner, The Alaskan Gypsy. It's about gratitude for the entire experience! Whether in the raw stillness of Alaska or the trade winds of Hawaii, the sea has always been my grounding place.
