We are upgrading our whole anchor set up, starting with a stainless steel anchor from Ultra Marine and then adding 100m of stainless steel chain from Cromox. To lift all that, we'll need a reliable windlass so we have increased the size of our windlass motor, switched out the gypsey to match the chain and even added a chain counter (thanks AR Peachment) to keep track of our scope. We live full time on our catamaran, and it's crucial that we can rely on safe equipment - we need enough chain to manage in deep anchorages, and an anchor that will hold our boat in storms and wind shifts. We don't usually use an anchor swivel but with this upgrade, we're adding the flip swivel from Ultra so we'll be testing out their whole system. Salut les loulous ⛵⚓ Les deux équipières embarquent à bord. Après la préparation du bateau, nous mettons le cap sur le premier mouillage. Elles prennent leurs marques sur à bord, se familiarisent avec le voilier et s’initient à la barre. Mit dem Grabner Happy Cat Hurricane bei stetigen 5 Windstärken, in Böen auch mehr, war es ein ordentlicher Segeltag auf dem Dümmersee. Durch die geringe Wassertiefe baut sich eine unangenehme Hackwelle auf…trotzdem hat es bei Geschwindigkeiten über 15 Knoten richtig viel Spaß gemacht.
