The final leg of our first trip on the cabin cruiser! In this third part, we leave the beautiful Egmont Key and try our luck heading out into the gulf waters... but the swells are too much! With conditions too rough to enjoy offshore, we make the decision to head back inside, navigating the famous Johns Pass before settling into the calm Intracoastal Waterway (ICW). It's a long cruise back home, but we make time for a well-deserved dockside lunch at a fantastic Mexican restaurant, right on the water. We finally make it back to the home marina, officially completing an epic 118-mile journey! Skippertraining ist die ganzheitliche Vorbereitung auf das Führen von Yachten und beinhaltet mehr als Hafenmanöver. Ziel des Trainings ist der Gewinn an Erfahrung, Kompetenz und der sichere Umgang mit der Yacht auch in schwierigen Situationen, wie z.B. bei einer Nachtfahrt oder bei Notmanövern. Skippertraining ist Bordpraxis in ständig wechselnden Rollen und erfordert, sich selbst und die Crew auf Manöver vorzubereiten, ruhig und souverän zu führen und sich an der Vorleine, am Fender oder am Ruder führen zu lassen. Alle Manöver werden zwischen Trainer und Crew ausgewertet und dabei auch die eigene Rolle reflektiert. Located in southwestern Norway, Lysefjorden is renowned for its steep and dramatic mountains, lush forests, and picturesque waterfalls. As you explore the area, you'll be taken back in time to a place of mystery and myth, where the gods of Norse mythology, Thor and Odin, were said to have lived. The deep blue waters of Lysefjorden have taken our breath away with their spectacular views. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, the fresh air, and the sense of calm that come with being surrounded by nature. The area is popular for activities such as mountain tracking, base jumping, fishing, kayaking, and boat rides around the fjord. Prepping the sailboat for hauling, I was under a time constraint. This was about 3 days of work: unstepping the masts, removing and securing the standing rigging and running rigging in addition to the electrical cables running through the masts. As I got close to the transport date, we realized I also needed to remove more things... due to height restrictions.
