Ineke van der Weijden is a professional sailor who is more used to skippering race yachts than being a crew member with no formal position, as has been the case for her aboard the VO 65 SISI Shortly after finishing the race Ineke spoke to us about how their race went, how good it was to have former Clipper Race colleagues as crew and how much she enjoyed not being skipper for a change. Ineke’s story is an inspiring one; she grew up sailing dinghies as a child but only returned to sailing after many years in the corporate world, signing up for the 2017 Clipper Round the World Race. After taking part in the 2019 race she ultimately returned as a Clipper Race skipper aboard Perseverance for the 2023 race, finishing second overall. @RolexMiddleSeaRace_

Sixty plus years ago the beach below our home a block up was protected by a steep embankment which allowed us kids that used as our playground almost total isolation. Now Captain of my boat Morning Star living on the docks here in Campbell River called the fishing capital of the world and also now known for awesome whale watch excurtions, I head to my old beach to check it out all these years later. We built beach rafts as well as had a secret cave in the bank as our hideout hidden away in the banks brush. But alas the beach is not the same - can I reclaim my heritage? I take the GoPro, both drones, and my field recorder to film this video epidode, my first in Ultra 4K HD. Davinci Resolve Studio is unquestionably thee best editing program out there. Used exclusively by Netflix producers and I own it. An incredibly powerful editing program.
