In this video, we reveal the three critical actions he took to prevent disaster-and how each decision made the difference between survival and shipwreck. Whether you're preparing for offshore sailing or simply fascinated by sea survival stories, this real-life account is packed with valuable lessons every sailor should know. - Copyright Fair Use Disclaimer: The material presented in this video is not exclusively owned by us. After years of being career focused, we decided it was time to shake things up and sought a lifestyle that would provide us with new experiences, humble us, allow us to visit remote locations, and experience new cultures. In 2021, we traded our regular suburban lifestyle for a nomadic one and moved aboard our sailboat, Te T?iko, a Chico 40. After three years sailing in New Zealand and preparing for Category 1 (regulations for New Zealand registered vessels planning to sail offshore), we set sail from New Zealand to Fiji on the 23 May 2024. This would be Vicki and T?iko's first ocean passage and Adam's third. We have since sailed to Vanuatu and New Caledonia, where we will be during the cyclone season. We fund our lifestyle by working part time. This sometimes involves returning to New Zealand to help top up the bank account. The other avenue is through our content creation where we document our journey though YouTube videos and our our social media accounts and website. We would love for you to follow our progress as we navigate a nomadic lifestyle. If our content is something that you enjoy, please consider supporting our channel. Sea turtles live in the ocean, but they don't have gills, so how do they survive underwater for so long? Here are some surprising facts that every ocean lover should know: ? 1. They Breathe Air, Just Like Us Sea turtles have lungs, not gills, so they must surface to breathe. ? 2. Incredible Breath-Holding Abilities When resting, they can hold their breath for 4 to 7 hours. While swimming, they come up for air every few minutes. ? 3. Super-Fast Breathers They only need 1-2 seconds at the surface before diving again! ? 4. Nighttime Adaptation While sleeping, their heart rate slows down dramatically-conserving oxygen and allowing them to stay underwater even longer. ? Want to See Sea Turtles in the Wild?
