We stopped at the Queen’s Bath and Glass Window Bridge in Eleuthera during high tide with 15–25 knots of northeast wind, and the Atlantic side was absolutely exploding over the rocks while the Caribbean side was calm — an incredible place to see the power of the ocean. The wind was forecast to build throughout the day and the Glass Window Bridge was eventually closed, but for us the bigger concern was timing our departure to make it through Current Cut at the right time with wind and current lining up. This one tested us 😅 We took on the steep and slippery climb up Isabel de Torres in Puerto Plata—and it was no joke. Muddy trails, sketchy footing, and a serious leg burn… but the view at the top made every step worth it. Sitting above the city with a mini botanical garden and that iconic statue, it’s one of the most rewarding hikes we’ve done in the Dominican Republic. We made it down just before sunset and headed into historic downtown Puerto Plata for dinner, soaking in the colorful streets as well as umbrellas and local vibes. Back in Luperón, the adventure didn’t stop. We explored Playa Chiquita with unique wooden sculptures, and hiked out to a hidden blowhole and coastal cliffs—one of those wild, off-the-beaten-path spots we love. 이번은 몇 년간의 크루 포지션을 거쳐 스키퍼로 데뷔한 첫 대회였다. 스키퍼로서 앞으로 더 배워가야 할 것들이 참 많다. 세일도 심각하게 찢어지고, 어깨도 탈골되고, 끊임없이 비용을 들여 수리를 진행하면서까지 요트를 타야 하는 이유는 무엇일까. 매일같이 스스로 물음을 던진다. 바람의 힘으로만 가는 요트, 모두의 힘이 합쳐져야만 나아가는 요트. 그 안에서 만나는 아름다운 자연, 그리고 두려움과 급박한 상황 속에서 비로소 진짜 나와 우리를 마주한다. 요트는 나에게 또 다른 나를 만나는 것이고, 넘어가야 할 두려움을 직면하는 것이 되었다. 세일링 요트는 알아가면 알아갈수록 단순한 스포츠 그 이상이라는 것을 발견한다. 어쩌다 보니 요트 대회 출전 미니 다큐멘터리 영상이 나왔다. 이 영상을 보고 새롭게 세일링 요트에 도전하려는 사람들이 겁을 먹거나 두려움을 갖게 될까 조심스러운 마음이다. 그럼에도 우리 후아팀에서 함께할 크루를 상시 모집하고 있다는 점을 덧붙이고 싶다. :)

This is a great entry level boat! The Volvo Penta 4.3GL is a great power plant and has been regularly serviced. 190Hp at the prop and _____ hours. I want clear waters, clean sand beaches and seclusion to highlight the joys of life on anchor during the summer among the Greek islands.
