Im Gespräch mit dem Stardesigner der 32.1, Gerald Kiska von KISKA International Brand and Design Agency. Das Statement aus 65 Jahren Entwicklung und Bau von qualitativ hochwertigen Segelyachten. Die Philosophie lautet: Funktionalität, Ästhetik und Komfort perfekt in sich zu vereinen. Modern, Stylish und am Puls der Zeit – dies ist die Geburtsstunde der neuen SUNBEAM 32.1. = = Barrierefreier Video Inhalt = = Hallo und herzlich willkommen zu unserem zweiten Vlog. Heute dreht sich alles um das Thema Design. Dazu sind wir zu Besuch bei der Firma Kiska in Salzburg. Was genau ihre Rolle in dem Projekt war, das sehen wir uns jetzt mal gemeinsam an. Für SUNBEAM YACHTS ist es absolut neu mit einem Industrial Designer zusammenzuarbeiten. Warum machen wir das? Es ging darum, mit Traditionen zu brechen und das Thema Wassersport und Aktivitäten am Wasser neu zu interpretieren. Das Mastermind dahinter Gerald Kiska himself wird euch das erklären: Seid mutig oder sehr mutig? Du hast da mal am Anfang ein bisschen provokante Aussage gemacht und gesagt: Wieso muss das Ding eigentlich einen Mast haben? Weil die Zugangsweise bzw. eure Blickwinkel dazu oft ja ein bisschen anders sind. Wie würdest du die spezielle Herausforderung im Segelbootsektor beschreiben? Motoryachten sind vom architektonischen Level her wie die tollsten Häuser dieser Welt. Segelyachten schauen noch immer so aus wie ein Boot. Das muss nicht sein. Üblicherweise hat man so im Kopf, wenn man in einem Segelboot der 10 Meter-Klasse geht, dann ist alles ein bisschen eng, man muss gefühlsmäßig den Kopf einziehen und selbst wenn man steht, kann man dann nur quer durch die Tür gehen. Das ist immer ein Kompromiss. Auch Kinder haben zu wenig Platz und wollen nicht mit und ihre Frau möchte sich auch frei bewegen können und sich nicht über 3 Fallen und 17 Leinen legen, um sich zu bräunen. Das sind alles so Themen, die muss man bedenken und aus dem Weg räumen. Wenn es ein Familienerlebnis werden soll, dann muss für jeden was dabei ist. Was ist bei dem Boot anders als wie bei anderen Booten am Markt? Es ist ein Boot, wo es Luft & Raum gibt, wo man atmen kann, wo man sich nicht bedrängt und eingeengt fühlt, sondern im Gegenteil überrascht ist, wie viel Platz zur Verfügung steht. Es geht also in erster Linie darum, diesen Tag auf dem Wasser voll inhaltlich zu gestalten und nicht nur die zwei Stunden, wo vielleicht wirklich gesegelt wird. Design ist immer die Verbindung von Funktion und Ästhetik. Dementsprechend darf auch die Ästhetik natürlich nicht zu kurz kommen und beschreibt dieses Gefühl, das einem jemand noch nachschaut, wenn man aus dem Hafen rausfährt. Man will eben auch gut ausschauen. Jetzt habe ich euch genug auf die Folter gespannt und so sieht sie jetzt aus. Ich zeige jetzt mal die wichtigsten Elemente der neuen SUNBEAM 32.1 und fange mal mit dem Flight Deck an. Wir nennen es Flight Deck, weil im vorderen Bereich das Deck breiter ist als der Rumpf. Das ist uns wichtig, um das Vorschiff besser erreichen zu können und eine zweite Erlebnis Zone am Schiff zu haben, damit sich nicht nur alles im Heck sozusagen ballt, sondern dass ein Teil der Mannschaft auch nach vorne ausweichen kann. Und vielleicht auch noch ein Detail, ist das sogenannte Express, ein Bauteil, das sämtliche Falle und Beschläge verdeckt und somit zu einem sehr cleanen und aufgeräumten Deck führt. So gehen wir mal an das Heck des Bootes und da zeige ich euch auch eine Novität, die wir uns einfallen lassen haben: die ausziehbare Badeplattform. Wir vergrößern damit das Cockpit zu einer Größe, die weit über das übliche Maß einer 30iger hinausgeht und damit gehen wir in das Interieur der Yacht. Wir nennen es das Loft, weil eben versucht wurde, durch Weglassen der trennenden Wände ein möglichst großes, durchgängiges zusammenhängendes Interieur zu schaffen. Das Ganze ist sehr hell und freundlich gestaltet und lädt ein zum Verweilen - ist also keine Folterkammer, in die man hineinmuss, sondern ein Loft, in das man hineinwill. Soviel zum Thema Design. And unable to get hold of the salvage company owner for weeks, or confront the yard owner who has not been around either, my time on the island runs out and with it any hopes of taking possession of my boat. I also meet some brave local kids and Hurricane survivors who have incredible survival stories, and who remind me that losing a boat is not the end of the world and show me their incredible resilience and tenacity.
