► Although the Cape Town–based shipyard Voyage Yachts has produced several models such as the 480 and 580, since 2020 its range had been reduced to the very comfortable Voyage 590, whose build quality we were able to see firsthand at the yard three years ago. ► Since last July, a more compact model, the 510, has completed the range offered by this bluewater cruising specialist. Our correspondent Jonathan was able to discover this offshore catamaran, which benefits from high freeboard and well-designed aft circulation, including dock access through a cut-out in the bulwarks and lowered side decks. ► “The 510 is first and foremost a catamaran designed to accommodate a large number of people on board in well-assumed comfort,” Jonathan reports. “At nearly 16 meters long and close to 8 meters wide, this new model offers a very pleasant living space. The cockpit is spacious, welcoming, and naturally oriented toward the outdoors. Inside, movement is fluid, the cabins are comfortable and bright, and the overall atmosphere is warm. The goal here is not to chase a ‘wow’ effect at all costs, but rather balance and coherence. Under sail, the 510 favors smooth motion with her 22 tons. She moves forward steadily, without harshness, providing a very reassuring sense of security. It’s a catamaran that puts you at ease, that supports her crew without ever being abrupt. You simply feel good on board!” ► Technical Specifications: Builder: Voyage Yachts Architect: Voyage Yachts Length: 51’10” (15.8 m) Beam: 26’11” (8.2 m) Draft: 4’11” (1.5 m) Displacement: 43,000 lbs (19.5 t) Sail area: 1,636 sq ft (152 m2) Drivetrain: 2 x 57 HP Fuel: 2 x 118 US gal (2 x 450 l) Price: $ 1,220,000 ex-tax ► Sign up for our newsletter and win a free two-month subscription to Multihulls World by clicking here: https://bit.ly/48JP1Vk ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! We bought a boat without a sea trial because it was buried in the back of the yard. Spending two huricane seasons on the hard we did all we could to recondition the boat for the passage. Now its time to head out. Not all the systems tested but if it is going to happen it will happen out there.

This week we are setting off from Gove in Arnhem Land and head into some of the most remote island chains in all of Australia — the Wessels. We sail through narrow island passes, drop a line and land a shark, and even spot unmanned vessels patrolling these off-grid waters. The landscape is wild, raw, and absolutely stunning — a part of the country few people ever get to see, let alone by sailboat. We are doing an overnight passage, rounding Cape Don under a starlit sky, entering the Van Diemen Gulf and complete our journey with a smooth arrival into Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory. This leg of the voyage was full of surprises, solitude, and raw beauty — and we're stoked to share it with you. ⏱️CHAPTERS 00:00 – Welcome Aboard! It’s haul-out time for ARGO. In this episode we lift ARGO out of the water and onto the hard stand for her annual maintenance. After a good power wash, Jason gets started on what should have been a simple job – changing the sail drive oil. But things quickly take a turn. When the oil comes out milky, it’s a sign every boat owner dreads – water has entered the sail drive, and that usually means an expensive repair. Thankfully we find a fantastic marine mechanic on site who helps track down the problem and get things sorted. While he’s at it, we finally solve a nagging issue we’ve been having with the anodes. Not exactly the start we planned for this haul out… but that’s boat life. In the next episode the real work begins – Jason takes on sanding the hulls himself in preparation for antifoul and Prop Speed. The pressure is on to get a professional result. Thanks for watching. Biotherm raced into Portsmouth,UK this morning with maximum points and a commanding early lead, while Malizia's daring inshore gamble at Dover stole second place in The Ocean Race Europe Leg 1. In Kiel, Allagrande Mapei is ready to rejoin the race having repaired their boat, with the goal now of reaching Portsmouth in time for the start of the second leg. Thomas Ruyant said, "The chainplate repair was completed today. The outrigger will be reinstalled this evening, and the team will finish prepping the boat for a Friday morning departure. Our preferred option is to go through the Kiel Canal, which should save us a lot of time, especially given the current weather (light winds along Denmark). We'd arrive tomorrow afternoon at the canal's exit to head up the Elbe estuary. Sailing the Kiel Canal requires a pilot on board since we draw more than 3 meters; for safety, we'll be accompanied by a RIB, and for the two locks, we'll use a large inflatable fender, which we'll keep all the way to Portsmouth. After that, the weather is in our favour for a fast downwind run to the Solent, which we hope to reach between Saturday evening and Sunday midday. That scenario is fantastic news and would allow us to start the second leg. We really hope Holcim-PRB can do the same. We're following their repairs closely—they've been our partners in misfortune at the start of this European tour, and we'd love to have the full fleet back together to continue The Ocean Race Europe."
