The boat utilises a hard-chined, plywood construction and this design of boat is a proven, capable, ocean-going vessel. Boat building with plywood is a relatively easy and cost-effective way to produce a strong, monocoque-style boat hull. These videos aim to show the way in which I go about it. Vitória nos surpreendeu muito! Não porque achávamos que seria divertido. Mas simplesmente por não saber o que esperar. Nem eu, nem Sergio conhecíamos Vitória e chegamos na cidade para explorar o que ela tinha para oferecer com expectativa zero. Primeiro pararíamos no Iate Clube de Vitória, íamos ficar junto com a flotilha. Como faltariam vagas por dois dias, resolvemos ancorar na Curva da Jurema. Que grata surpresa! A gente parou em uma das praias mais lindas (e agitadas!) do litoral da cidade. De um lado do nosso bordo ficada o Convento da Penha, cartão postal de Vitória e do outro, a ponte para a Ilha do Frade. Dava para acordar de manhã e ver as tartarugas passando, fazer standup... as pessoas passavam nadando pelo barco todas as manhãs, alguns paravam para puxar papo. Gente, que lugar! Que cidade legal! Falei pro Sergio: "Eu moraria em Vitória!".

In this video I am fighting a deadline from Captain Tom's request to bring the dive barge to Keehi Lagoon by the 31st... Which was yesterday.... The twin Detroit Diesel motors seem to be running good. However, we ran into a snag with the hydraulic steering, and I still need to clean the boat bottom, before I'm comfortable taking her out to sea. Also we get into a little cleaning. The main idea behind the project was to bring to market a true “all-terrain” powercat, inspired by workboats and featuring an innovative design with asymmetrical hulls linked by a central foil capable of optimizing the equation that combines speed/consumption/passage though the water. The aluminum hulls are protected by impressive thick scantlings, and the welded parts throughout the deck are impressive. The 46 Explorer is fitted out in a somewhat rustic fashion, with a single, relatively spartan double cabin. However, a number of customization options, such as the fabric enclosure for the flybridge enhance the level of comfort. According to the manufacturer, at 20 knots, fuel consumption is reduced by 30%, giving a range of over 200 miles. It’s worth noting that despite the foiling design, the Vandal is still perfectly capable of taking the ground – you’re either an explorer or you’re not... A second 60-foot (18 m) model is currently under study. Sunrise Yachts was established on 10,000 square meters of Mediterranean coastline in Southern Turkey. The yacht-building facility has two halls, measuring 100 meters long (328 feet) and 16 meters (53 feet) wide, as well as a 70-meter (230-foot)-by-16-meter (53-foot) fully acclimatized, laboratory-style paint shed, that can accommodate new construction and refit projects up to 65 meters (213 feet) in length and 1,200 tons displacement. Along each side of the yacht-building facility, space is available for long-term sub-contractors with the latest equipment and logistics capabilities, along with air-conditioned storage, ventilation and extraction plants. The shipyard is organized as an "assembler," based loosely on the car industry's model, with a small, yet powerful project management team charged with running all the in-house long-term sub-contractors. We also provide contemporary amenities for visiting specialists, regulation authority representatives and Sunrise Yachts owners. Our workshops and offices were designed specifically for our team members, experienced craftsmen whose focus is to achieve a level of quality surpassing that expected by the most discriminating yachtsmen. Our priority at Sunrise Yachts is to please people: not only those who buy our luxurious yachts, but also the ones who build them.
Windancer is a Crowther Windspeed 36 built by Geoff Cruse and launched in 1998. She has had a professional transom extension to create a more cruiser friendly boarding platform but still leaving her at under 12 metre. Windspeeds are renowned for their easy simplicity and speed of sailing. Fitted with daggerboards and dagger rudders, she draws barely 600mm. A rotating mast is of course fitted. She is still owned by the original couple who have spent the last 13 years living aboard and cruising Windancer up and down the coast of Queensland. She is in immaculate condition, has relatively low engine hours, and a good sail wardrobe. Simple inside but with all necessary systems fitted, she is a sailors boat first and foremost, but clearly comfortable enough to live aboard.
