We revisited Lunenburg as It was decided that for the upcoming winter the boat be anchoraged there. Another issue at hand was that we were in a harm's way as the hurricane Teddy was making its way up North. So we were to take shelter in Lunenburg harbour again. Before Hurricane Teddy Denis and I spent half a day touring the streets of this lovely small town and visiting the waterfront ... Under the supervision of our captain Sergey we prepared the boat for the hurricane and for the winter (removing both - main sail & genoya, etc ... )  Two days after hurricane Teddy was gone, Denis and I went back to Halifax and Sergey stayed on the boat for one more day ... ===================== ABOUT ME Back in 2019 I decided I did not want to be a 9 to 5  type guy anymore.  I got fed up with this rat race like routine city life and I got hooked on the idea of sailing and living on a boat full time. But with 0 (zero) expirience that would be difficult to achieve... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen boat related forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Yesterday what was Tropical Storm Elsa became Hurricane Elsa a Category 1 Hurricane with sustained winds of 75 miles per hour. Lucky for us Reverie, as well as our home, is located in a protected area so we were blessed with a lot less rain than forecasted and winds only gusting to 30 knts moving from East to West (Offshore) which was the best case scenario. If you recall part of our storm plan included checking the tide tables to assess the effect of the storm surge in our area and how that would be affected by the tides. Lucky for us things worked as planned. The storm surge came into the bay area at the time when we had low tide. Check out how this combination impacted Reverie and how much worst it could have been should we have had high tide at the same time the storm surge came in. Enjoy!
