On May 29, 2020, students at Newport’s Thompson Middle School tuned in to a webinar aboard SSV Oliver Hazard Perry. Along with Dan O'Connor, our program director, and our crew Miranda, Eric, and Jackson, students learned about about simple machines and mechanical advantage as the crew used a pulley system to lift and transfer a ship's liferaft from the deck to the dock. This video is a recording of the livestream from the ship and is provided courtesy of Taylor Rock, science teacher at Thompson Middle School. Kempy's got his Pirate Boat, a 23 foot timber constructed yacht called "SOBRAON" which we plan to move Marinas in the coming episodes. The Bruce Roberts steel hull has been put on hold for the time being. We are looking forward to producing videos of us actually sailing the new boat, and creating some awesome adventures.

We , like many others around the world are trapped aboard our sailing boats due to the global pandemic, its our home, we don't have a house or a country that we call home, our home is the floating steel plates lovingly welded together and painted that keep us afloat. Our country is where we are right now, that small deserted island or busy town quay is where we walk, where we shop and where we rest, we don't need any more than a small patch of sand to set our anchor. we are trying to make the best of a bad thing, we have compiled a list of work to get done on the boat to stop us from going just a little crazy, we aren't allowed to sail or to leave this concrete dock and Christmas is looming.
