Comece a estudar, assistir vídeos e ler livros.

This week, we take you on an exciting step in our adventure as we officially move onboard our sailboat full time. After months of planning and preparation, the dream of becoming liveaboard sailors is finally real. We’re saying goodbye to our house on land, downsizing our possessions, and moving everything we need onto our Beneteau Oceanis 430, which will now be our floating home as we prepare to sail around the world. The transition to living aboard a sailboat is more than just a move—it’s a complete lifestyle change. In this episode, we share the realities of what it takes to downsize from a house into the limited space of a yacht, the challenges of organization and storage, and how we’re making our sailboat comfortable for long-term cruising. For anyone curious about the process of becoming full-time liveaboards, this video gives you an inside look at the first big leap. Our Beneteau Oceanis 430 will carry us on our dream of world cruising, and this step is just the beginning of a larger journey into the sailing lifestyle. From sorting through belongings, learning what truly matters, and preparing our sailboat for offshore passages, every moment brings us closer to the freedom of life at sea. If you’ve ever dreamed of sailing around the world, traveling full time by boat, or simply experiencing life off-grid, this episode is packed with insight and inspiration. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor, a new sailboat owner, or someone curious about what it’s like to live on a boat, you’ll discover valuable tips about downsizing, organizing, and adapting to a simpler way of life. Join us as we share our liveaboard journey, the emotional ups and downs of leaving land life behind, and our excitement about exploring new horizons under sail. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and follow our adventures as we document every step of our path toward a full-time cruising lifestyle and our goal of sailing around the world. Subscribe to follow our liveaboard journey, get more sailing tutorials, and join us as we explore the world, one anchorage at a time. It's been a year and a half since our first sail in @SailingAstridTheWombat actually that means it's been a year and a half since our first sail ever. That's right a year ago we bought this Beneteau Oceanis 430 and pulled the sail up for the first time ever when we brought her home. A sail that stretched 700 nautical miles from Townsville in Far North Queensland Australia to Moreton Bay in Brisbane Queensland. We are now preparing to move onboard and to sail around the world. Join us to see the challenges as we continue to learn to sail, prepare our boat and make changes so our boat feels like a home. We are moving onboard in just a few weeks so our sailing dream is getting closer and closer. Each experience we have and each new sailing skill learnt just keeps bringing us closer to taking off to sail around the world in our Beneteau Oceanis 430 @SailingAstridTheWombat living our boat life dream. Before we left North Queensland on the long trek home, we took the chance to head out to the Great Barrier Reef to visit stunning Arlington Reef and Upolu Reef, just off Cairns. At Arlington, we had our very own private lagoon – the clearest, most incredible blue water you’ve ever seen. Jason speared his first-ever Coral Trout while we snorkelled among vibrant coral gardens. Sadly, my underwater camera decided to take its job description a bit too seriously. It’s now completely full of water and has officially retired from filming – though it still looks the part. So at Upolu, when we spotted our first-ever clownfish in the wild, you’ll just have to take our word for it! Both reefs were breathtaking, and we feel so fortunate to have explored this spectacular part of Queensland before beginning our 820nm sail home. What an adventure it’s been! Thanks for watching. Have you seen the Crew Cabins before? Where does the skipper sleep? The listings for yachts often say 4+2 cabins. And sleeps 10. But what does that actually mean? These compartments are mostly unsuitable for crew to be housed in during the week. Watch here to see why.

In this weeks video we sail our Amel Super Maramu, JAYGO, from Indonesia to Australia. We have to take the last of the Monsoon westerlies but not too early in case we strike a late season cyclone. We dodge squalls & lightning storms along the way but get a pretty good run in the end. This is Part 1 of our passage.

In this episode, we continue our trek south – already 694nm down – with this passage taking us a further 261nm from Pancake Creek to the base of Fraser (K’gari) Island. After a great yet slightly traumatic side trip to Lady Musgrave Island, where we were smashed by a surprise 39-knot storm (check out Episode 47 for that chaos), we spent a few days riding out the spring storms in Bundaberg – including helping a fellow sailor remove a fishing lure from his back! Never a dull moment… From there, we pushed on to Fraser (K’gari) Island, spending 11 days exploring more of this stunning part of Queensland. On our way out of the Sandy Straits we took an alternative route that saved us a heap of time and proved to be far less shallow than expected – an excellent discovery for the logbook. So far, we’ve clocked 955nm and 39 days on this epic journey home. The adventure continues… Thanks for watching. We are still trying to get ready for our Electric Motor Installation. So many parts are needed for the wiring, cooling and control of the system that it is hard to keep track of everything. We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP. Two ongoing jobs are preparing for our electric motor installation and creating a cockpit enclosure for our wheelhouse. We have a frequently updated blog at https://sustainablesailing.net with membership options and a weekly newsletter at £2 per month for Early Bird Supporters. Our free Sustainable Sailing book is at: https://sustainablesailing.codeberg.page/ Or visit our shop at https://sustainablesailing.teemill.com/ for great hoodies, t-shirts and bags. When we bought Vida in August 2019 she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings (much of it not working).

#ParallelHorizons: you’ve imagined it, now you can live it. Episode 1 begins in Saint Thomas, where Nikoline and Adam welcome us aboard their FP51 for the first day of their week in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Provisioning by dinghy, settling in, organizing life on board, then casting off with no fixed destination. A short sail, a sunset arrival, and the true start of their life at sea.

Hi and welcome aboard @SailingAstridTheWombat We are Gav and Shezz and two and a half years ago we bought our Beneteau Oceanis 430 sailboat with absolutely no sailing experience and jumped straight into the deep end of liveaboard sailing. Our very first passage was just over 700 nautical miles, launching us headfirst into the world of bluewater cruising, learning to sail, and real life at sea. Since that moment, we’ve been fully immersed in boat life, documenting the journey of turning a production cruising sailboat into a capable, self-sufficient home as we prepare for full-time liveaboard life. From major sailboat upgrades and off-grid power systems to everyday maintenance and skills building, we’re learning what it truly takes to own, sail, and live on a boat while working toward our goal of sailing around the world. If you’re into sailing adventures, beginner sailing, sailboat ownership, cruising lifestyle, and traveling the world by sailboat, our journey is all about real-time learning, ocean freedom, and building the confidence to chase long-term world cruising under sail. When you’re living the liveaboard sailing lifestyle, things don’t always go to plan—and in this episode, we’re dealing with a frustrating issue with our mainsail. Join us as we troubleshoot problems with our sailboat’s mainsail while out on the water, giving you a real and honest look at what it’s like to maintain and sail a boat full-time. Sailing around the world isn’t just about perfect sunsets and calm anchorages—it’s also about problem-solving, learning, and adapting. In this video, we walk you through the challenges we’re facing with our mainsail, from identifying the issue to testing possible fixes while underway. Whether it’s sail trim, rigging tension, battens, sail shape, or hoisting problems, we break down the process so you can follow along and learn with us. If you’re a beginner sailor, sailboat owner, or someone interested in sailboat maintenance, this episode shows real-world troubleshooting as we learn as we go. Understanding how your mainsail works is a key part of improving sailing performance, safety, and efficiency—especially when you’re living off grid on a sailboat. As full-time liveaboard sailors, every challenge is part of the journey. This is the reality of cruising life—fixing gear, learning new skills, and becoming more self-sufficient every day. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like to live on a sailboat or sail around the world, this episode shows the behind-the-scenes side of sailing life that you don’t always see. We’re passionate about sharing our journey through liveaboard sailing Australia and beyond, helping others learn how to sail, gain confidence on the water, and chase their own sailing dreams. From sailboat upgrades to maintenance and offshore preparation, this channel is all about real sailing experiences. If you’re searching for liveaboard sailing, sailboat life, mainsail problems, sailboat maintenance, how to fix a mainsail, sailing tips for beginners, or off grid sailing life, this video is for you. There is a special charm to Croatia's coastal historical heritage; the land of thousand islands has been a very attractive destination for settlement ever since the times of Greek and Roman colonies. If you visit Croatia and its coastal cities these days, you will get the feeling of how Mediterranean looked and felt hundreds, even thousand years ago. One of the best options to explore long, winding and island rich coast of Croatia is to simply go sailing from north to south, and leave yourself some more time to explore its beauties. Learn more about how you could explore Croatia on a sailing yacht here: http://www.sailingeurope.com/en/yacht-charter-in/croatia

Launched in 2023, 'Manaia' is a Lagoon Seventy 7 exclusively For Sale with the team at YOTI. Currently cruising in the Pacific and on her way to New Zealand, she will be available for inspection in Auckland. https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/lagoon-seventy-7-manaia Configured as a four-cabin owner's layout, she features the sought-after forward galley, maximising interior living space and providing seamless flow throughout her light-filled saloon. The highlight of her accommodation is the remarkable master suite, complete with Lagoon's signature opening side door that transforms into a private swim platform -- a unique connection to the sea that sets this vessel apart. She offers expansive deck spaces that invite relaxation, connection, and adventure. Her aft cockpit is a vast, shaded lounge and dining area flowing seamlessly into the interior. In contrast, the forward cockpit and sunken lounging zone provide a private retreat for lounging and soaking in ocean views. A custom foredeck shade tent expands the outdoor living areas beyond her aft living areas. Up top, the flybridge is a social hub - complete with daybeds, generous seating and the perfect space for entertaining under sail or at anchor. A full wet bar, complete with 3 x fridges and an icemaker, transforms this space into a genuine living area. A hydraulic Tenderlift allows safe, fast and easy management of her 2023 110hp Williams Diesel jet tender, as well as an uber cool "beach-like" relaxation platform, making water access effortless for swimming, paddleboarding, or simply unwinding at the stern. 'Manaia' was specified with twin Nanni 230hp diesels driving Brunton 4-blade folding propellers. Her 180,000 BTUs of Dometic Cruise-Air is run from shore or one of her 2 x Cummins Generators. Her Raymarine navigation and sailing instrumentation is current and complete. It includes 6 x Raymarine Axiom Displays, 3D downvision Sonar, Raymarine Evolution Autopilot with ACU 400 Actuator and a backup independent second autopilot system with control at her saloon helm. Also specified was a Raymarine Quantum Doppler radar (24nm), SEA AI Collision avoidance system, 2 x aft facing cameras and Raymarine 3D Sonar System. Her sail wardrobe is as complete as the rest of 'Manaia's' specification. Her main, G1 and G3 are all Incidence ZZ Ultra cloth. She has a 2.25 oz A2 built by Far East Sails in 2024 and a brand new C0 by Precision Sails. Facnor Hydraulic Furlers manage her Genoa, Jib and Code Zero independently. 'Manaia' has been professionally managed by a very experienced crew since handover in France in 2023 and was delivered by the Australian Lagoon agent, TMG Yachts. She is an incredibly well-specified and exceptionally well-cared-for 2023 Lagoon Seventy7 now for sale by her original owners and YOTI.
