We continue to enjoy our season in the Bahamas. Drew, Jenny, Ashley and Chad all came for a visit and we had a blast!

We take the dinghy to the dock and lock it securely. We decided to take a quick walk around Fort de France away from the normal touristy parts. It is a lovely interesting place with lots of character. The cathedral was incredible and well worth a visit. We enjoyed the covered market and bought our lunch from the boulangerie/patisserie just outside. There was a long queue of locals so we figured it must be good - we were right. Ham and cheese baguettes, pain au raisins, and a macaroon. Yum. Fort de France was very quiet the day we were there. There was almost no-one on the Malecon (seafront). We enjoyed our walk around Fort de France and a picnic on the seafront. The anchorage was very sheltered and has good holding and the dinghy dock is excellent. It is not our normal kind of video, but we keep getting asked "what do you do when you get somewhere?" ‘G Whizz’ is a 2007 Elan 340 listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Sydney Harbour. https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/elan-340-g-whizz This is a mid-sized performance cruiser designed by Rob Humphries. ‘G Whizz’ offers a fun, responsive, and fast club racer with the comforts of a cruising yacht. Her second and long-term owners have successfully raced her on Sydney Harbour. The sail wardrobe is impressive and largely by Doyle with furling and non-furling headsails, black Kevlar main, and both symmetrical and asymmetrical kites. There is an easy-to-handle extendable bow sprit. The Dyform rigging was fully replaced in 2023 by Diverse Rigging including all halyards, mast electrics and a new Selden furler. Down below, this is very much a comfortable cruise interior with a practical two cabin layout, proper galley and nav station, large folding saloon table, and good-sized head / shower with practical wet hanger. There is very little evidence below that G whizz has been a successful long-term racer as the cabinetry, floor, and upholstery present in excellent condition. Many of the surfaces and the table have been covered for protection. There is a solid and well-organized safety inventory plus extensive systems and boat manuals. The yacht has lived under a boom tent for most of her life when at rest plus there is an additional lunch awning with battens. ‘G Whizz’ has just been anti-fouled November 2025 and enjoyed a full hull soda blast in 2022. This is an incredibly versatile option for those seeking something that is exhilarating to sail while also offering cruising comforts. We spend almost a week in Subic Bay getting the boat prepared for the onward journey, then the real cruising began. Sailing though the islands down to the start of Palawan. Amazing sights and learning to love Miko a bit more every day. Philippines has over 7000 islands, hence the exploring options are incredible.

A moderate sea breeze is forecast to build early which, accompanied by warm Spring sunshine, should create a great arena as the regatta showcases the new formats which are expected to be used at the LA2028 Olympic regatta. As the last chances to qualify for Saturday’s Finals Series played out, Good Friday afternoon on the Bay of Palma offered the best racing conditions so far, hopefully a foretaste of what’s ahead. While the Kite and iQFOiL medals decider format are largely unchanged, it is still the top ten in each of the dinghy, skiff and multihull classes which go through to contest the Palma titles. But now there are scheduled to be two consecutive medal races with points from the Elimination Series carried forward.

Lots of soft corals cover this wreck. The engine room is accessible through a torpedo hole on the port side. Both bow and stern guns are intact and heavily encrusted with life. Inside the superstructure is a sick bay with operating table. Elsewhere there are bottles and loading hoses. There are 3 telegraphs in the remains of the bridge.
