Ferien auf Zubenubi. In diesem Video zeigen wir den ersten Teil von Ferien auf Zubenubi, einem Segelkatamaran, auf Sardinien. Wir hatten viele Gäste dieses Jahr an Bord, welche vornehmlich Badeferien auf einem Segelkatamaran geniessen wollten. Das Segeln kam dadurch etwas zu kurz, aber wir hatten auch diverse Reparaturen, welche uns an grossen Törns hinderten. Vacation on Zubenubi. In this video we show the first part of vacations on Zubenubi, a sailing catamaran, in Sardinia. We had many guests on board this year who mainly wanted to enjoy a relaxing vacation on a sailing catamaran. This meant that sailing was somewhat neglected, but we also had various repairs that prevented us from going on long trips.

After our friends left from George Town, we needed to start heading north to get up of Cape Hatteras by early June. After provisioning, fueling up and fixing a leak on our generator, we departed to head back up to the Berry Islands where we'd make the jump from Great Harbor Cay over to Grand Bahamas. We hit a bad storm going over to Grand Bahamas which literally had me thinking we might die. But, as Captain Scott once told us, the boat can handle more than we can. A nearby lightening strike seemed to have taken out our wind instrument. It was a humbling trip. We learned a lot. At some point we may consider mooring the boat somewhere south. There's very few boatyards which can handle the berth of a catamaran, 25 feet wide. But, we found a few and are deliberating for next year. The monthly expenses are higher and the insurance is about $2500 more for the year. However, we have to weigh that against the few costs (and wear and tear) of both the northbound and southbound trips. Anyway, this episode covers a lot of time but, looking back on it now, it went by in a blur. We love the Berry Islands. It's so sparsely visited. We had a great stay at the Grand Bahamas Yacht Club and Saint Augustine is always a pleasure to visit. I wish we would have had some video of the storms we went through...but the last thing I could imagine doing during those instances is pull out a video camera. That said, this is not for the faint of heart. Yeah, the beaches, secluded anchorages and beautiful waters are amazing. However, living on a boat, the weather becomes a focus. We watched the weather predictions from a handful of models many times a day. When do we need to move our anchorage? When can we leave? The Precision 16 is a lightweight Stephen Seaton-designed un-ballasted centerboard sailing dinghy with a planing hull manufactured from 1982 until the mid 90s. Chris Beeson sails the Hanse 460. The relationship between Hanse Yachts and La Rochelle-based design house Berret-Racoupeau started with a bang when their first launch of an entire new range, the 460, won the family cruiser category in the 2022 European yacht of the Year awards. Three years on, Chris Beeson thinks the exterior design still looks fresh and dynamic, and there are some delightful design touches down below, with hull ports, plenty of opening hatches and recessed mood lighting in the bright saloon, and contrasting coloured panels adding depth to the cabins. Sailing this model is a cinch with optional electric winches right next to the helm stations and an electric furler for the optional second forestay’s 145% genoa. With the main traveller positioned on the coachroof and sail controls at the wheels, the very spacious cockpit remains line-free, perfect for relaxed family fun.
