Amazing Whale Shark footage taken onboard the dive liveaboard Calico Jack in Cenderawasih Bay ,West Papua. On this particular day we had up to 7 whale sharks circling a local fishing Bagan (floating fishing platform). The whale sharks can be seen all year round in the area and are attracted by the fishing of 'ikan puri' small fish similar to a sardines, of which they are greedy. From Green Turtle Cay to south Abaco, Marsh Harbour. I have to meet a FedEx delivery agent to pickup a package in Marsh Harbour later that day... Had to go despite the windy weather. Apparently, in slack tide, it's all fine. I think so :)

Of course it COULD have been colder, and it did get colder as the winter went on in Port Townsend. Boat life comes with certain chores that, just like in a house, must be done regardless of wether or not you're in the Bahamas, or in the Pacific Northwest in the winter. Although it has been a tough night for many of the fleet with very slow conditions heading north, we take a look back at the start with our video of the race start commissioned by the CYCA.

We finally got our engine repaired and set off for Pensacola Florida. It was a 5 day trip. We waiting so long to get going that even though we knew we'd have very little wind most of the time, we were anxious to get going. The Yanmar worked perfectly. We had 2 days of heavy fog but we got there. Thank God for radar! Enjoyed the town and the beach especially.

Amanda and Bryan entered a new phase in their life when they downsized from a 3500 sq ft farmhouse to a 1 bedroom apartment. Now they are taking the next leap as they downsize their living space to a liveaboard sailboat while maximizing their life experience. After upgrading lighting and fans, our next step is to prepare for the electronics and new equipment upgrades. This week we are beginning the battery system upgrade to modernize the House Bank with LiFePO4 batteries while keeping the other 3 battery banks as lead.
