After arriving to Cariaccou and checking in with Customs and Immigration we took a dinghy tour in the mangroves. Next stop, Grenada! In this Episode, we sail from Key Biscayne down to Key West. We stop at Rodriguez Key and also Marathon, each for a night. We had some great sailing most of the way down. We encountered a problem trying to sock our Oxley Levante Parasail. It was definitely a learning experience. Then, we got held up from making our way to Garrison Bight to grab an anchor ball due to Offshore World Championships. We've never seen boat racing before...it was quite amazing. Key West was awesome. We spent about 3 weeks, in total, exploring Key West. We visit Sloppy Joes, the Green Parrot, Earnest Hemingway's house and Papa Pilar's distillery, to name a few spots. We saw the Garcia Project at The Key West Theater...super cool. I also walk through the rigging of our Parasail. 大提顿黄石国家公园旅行经验分享 7月初的时候，我和小伙伴出海去绕hart island一圈，当时我就问我的朋友John我月底有一周的时间可以带全家出去玩，有什么好的idea啊，John就推荐我去大提顿国家公园。大提顿和黄石国家公园是连在一起的，所以就可以一起去。但是john说他比较喜欢大提顿，特别是在湖上kayak，所以我这次行程就是以大提顿为主，只是去黄石打卡一下。旅程规划和路线研究其实很费时间，但是如果用chatgpt来规划路线就方便很多了。我就让chatgpt根据我的想法帮我列了一周的计划和安排。这边的机场是jackson (JAC)，就在著名的滑雪胜地Jackson Hole旁边，所以第一站是去这个山坐Tram并买gift，因为我有收集雪场地图的爱好。之后就是花时间订机票，酒店，租车，还有景点门票，有时候航空公司还会杀个熟（价格浮动）总之制定旅行计划还有订票是很费时的事情，一家人全部弄好也好花一两天时间。都弄好之后，就把这事给放一边了，等到出发前一天来收东西，机票check in以后，心情又开始激动起来。但是没想到要出发的那天收到United airline的通知说航班取消了，因为crowdstrike IT故障,又是病毒惹的祸。没有办法，只有重新订机票，改酒店预定，一顿操作以后还是可以成行，只是本来4个半小时的直飞要改成中转。6个晚上的行程变成5个晚上。 7/22，早上6点出门去LGA赶飞机，在达拉斯中转还延误了两个小时，到jackson酒店入住已经当地时间傍晚7点，相当于纽约时间晚上9点，第一次来Jackson机场，这是个很小的机场，但是干净便捷，取行李租车都非常容易。对这个地方的印象立刻变得很好。我租了辆Nissan pathfinder，第一次开这个车，除了动力肉一点，其他感觉还不错。下飞机以后先去看了一个历史景点Mormon row，因为就在机场附近13分钟的地方，然后就去酒店入住了。第一天door to door就在路上折腾了14个小时。 7/23，我来大提顿的主题其实就是两件事情，一是来jackson hole坐tram，另外就是在Jackson lake上面kayaking。其他的黄石打卡就是顺路而已。第二天一早我们就开车去Jackson hole mountain resort。这是全美乃至全世界最著名的滑雪场之一，夏天去滑雪场，停车好停很多，可以直接停在缆车旁边最近的位置，去换了票，我们就坐Tram上去了，这种大型Tram很厉害，可以坐100人。全程十多分钟到达山顶，冬天全是带着头盔的滑雪爱好者挤在里面，像沙丁鱼一样。夏天就是短裤短袖，在山顶一个top of the world trail上稍微hiking了一下，看见有人在玩滑翔伞🪂，心里面感叹what kind of life they live。费用大概450刀，感兴趣的朋友可以是试试。又在著名的waffle house吃了点waffle，还买了一个bear spay，因为飞机上不让携带bear spray。下山以后去商店里面买了些纪念品和打折的衣服。resort里面很多人在骑山地车，整个氛围感觉是挺好的，但是跟冬天来滑雪的感受还是有差距，我觉得从价格上就可以分出来，我们全家2大2小，总共tram ticket是124刀，如果是滑雪季节来，一个人的lift ticket可以达到200美刀，还会有很长的队伍，供需决定价格，我个人是觉得滑雪的体验感更加强烈了，hiking的多巴胺分泌可能还是没法跟滑雪比。下山以后我去gift shop买了很多纪念品，小的贴纸和磁铁。当然也拿到了冬天的滑雪地图为纪念品。 7/24，第三天，受John的启发。我们早上去colter bay租船，本来我想说租kayak的，但是考虑到太费劲，要弄两条船，还要使劲滑，我们就租了一个可以坐5人的motor dingy，我很久没有用这种发动机了，之前我的老师Sam有教过我怎么开，但是已经忘了。还试了一下才练熟，然后我们就在Jackson lake 上面兜了2个小时，湖面非常平静，也没有什么什么船，近距离观看Teton雪山，感受很强烈。我个人非常推荐大家去，这个地方租船也是没有太多的人，我们2小时租船也才花了120刀，非常划算，可以自己带点吃的，开出去一小时以后吃点东西，然后再开回来。玩完以后我们就回酒店休息，我们住的酒店Jackson lake lodge也是推荐大家去住，地理位置就在Jackson lake中心，去南边的Jackson市或者是黄石都很方便。下午我们去看了一下Jenny lake，非常popular的一个景点，有很多人，我们坐了下湖上的shuttle boat就回去了。 7/25，第四天，我们开车去了黄石，主要想到来都来了，肯定要去看看，毕竟也是我的一个bucket list，但是因为不是重头戏，我们就只去了2个景点，west thumb geyser和grant prismatic spring。本来要去old faith的，但是小朋友有点不耐烦了，所以就临时取消了，这就是自由行的好处。黄石不愧是世界著名旅游景点，游客非常多，景点停车要排队等一下，prismatic spring挺壮观的，但是更壮观的是游客都在打卡拍照。大提顿和黄石的公路都很好开，跟美东的95号公路比就顺畅多了，只是黄石有很多山路，还是提醒大家要注意限速。我们还路过了几天前有一个黄石火山喷发的景点biscuit basin，已经关闭了。总之带家人和孩子来黄石旅游是我的一个bucket list，即使只是一天的打卡旅游，也是非常激动。 7/26，第四天，想要轻松一点，我们订了酒店的snake river scenic raft float tour，这是大提顿一个比较经典的旅游项目，也推荐大家来的时候玩一下。就是在一个可以坐12人的raft上，顺着snake river 漂流而下，沿途观赏野生动物和自然风光，大致2小时的时间，我们的导游Spencer 非常有经验，而且口才很好，跟我们介绍大提顿的历史，还有各种动物的习性，又讲到了大提顿和黄石怎么从私人产权变成国家公园，和目前还保有的一些私人产权，导致我回来以后开始看美剧Yellowstone 。可惜的是我们这次旅程没有看到凶猛的动物例如熊和狼，估计要去比较deep的trial才有机会碰到。 7/27，从jackson机场坐飞机回纽约，再次让我觉得这里很棒，首先案件没有一个人排队，机场柜台和tsa的人都很nice，我时不时听到tsa的广播是谁的水壶还是帽子没有拿，请去security取，很难想象其他大型机场会这样广播 大家肯定对费用很关心，所以我也列出来分享一下，我们家4个人，整个行程花了大概8000多刀，回来想想真的是很大一笔钱，现在出门旅游本来就是很费钱的活动，又是在旺季去热门旅游景区，但是我估计我这辈子就会去这里一次吧，除非N年以后我有孙儿才会再去了。下面时大概的费用花销，感觉大部分都让Jackson lake lodge赚走了，后来一查是Vail corporation 就难怪了。但是我觉得十年以后再回忆这个旅程的话，只会说当时这个价格时真便宜😂 airline：$2500 + 100k points (因为航班取消重新订了高价票) Jackson lake lodge 5 nights：$2600 Rental car: $762 Tram family ticket: $124 Jackson hole gift shopping: $200 Kids Bungie jump: $80 Rental boat: $120 Buy binocular: $90 Rafting float tour: $400 National park annual ticket: $80 Hotel Restaurant, gas and grocery : $1000 (没有自己做饭，每天在酒店餐厅吃饭） Total: $7966 经验分享： 1，出门旅游要提前做足功课，特别是用chat gpt帮你规划行程。这样你玩得时候也可以很尽兴。我年轻的时候常订了机票和酒店就不管了，到了以后才发现很多坑。现在全家出游就会花时间做功课，举个例子我之前在jackson机场租车是dollar，后来仔细看一下才知道这个租车不在Jackson hole机场，是在Jackson市，还要坐很久的shuttle了，还好后来改成机场里面的租车公司enterprise 2，我个人觉得来黄石旅游不妨把重心放在大提顿，我觉得黄石只是名气大，毕竟是美国的第一个国家公园，但是景点人多，做好排队准备，二是其实就是看一些黄色的石头而已，跟大提顿的壮丽景观相比，我也是更喜欢大提顿，玩得项目也更多 3，在这边国家公园租车最好租一个大一点的SUV，一是是安全，还有就是视野好，这边很多景点就是在路边停下来拍照，大部分时间都是在车上欣赏风景，所以租个大的SUV很划算，很多老美都是上ford expedition这种大型SUV，本地人估计都是开truck 4，世界上好的地方太多了，很难说我这辈子还会再来一次大提顿和黄石了。下一次不知道要等多少年了，带着这种心态来玩可以更加珍惜每一个活动 5，提醒大家提前下载好Google的离线地图，好多地方没有信号，如果有下载好离线地图的话，就不怕找不到路了 6，推荐我们住的Jackson lake lodge，位置很棒，大部分都是家庭带小孩来旅游，没有什么团队。酒店带游泳池，不过没有空调，好在这边昼夜温差大，晚上挺凉快的，如果你住这里一定要去走他们的lunch loop hiking trail，很适合晚餐后去看日落 介绍: (00:14) 下飞机的第一站: (01:10) Jackson Hole Mountain Resort: (01:25) 滑翔伞: (01:53) Peak Hiking: (02:08) 山顶的Waffle House: (02:54) Jackson lake overlook: (03:17) Colter bay租船: (03:44) Kayaking fishing: (04:23) Yellowstone: (04:39) 黄石的游客: (05:37) Jackson Lake Lodge hiking: (06:55) Snake River Rafting Tour: (07:13)

In this episode we tackle our water pump problem ourselves but first we have to find a new pump luckily our friends that we had planned to met in Sete had a rental car and they where kind enough to drive us around to different chandleries. We also sail between a couple of marinas in the Lion bay and Gitte gets to fulfill a childhood dream. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our sailboat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is sail the Mediterrainean Sea and really enjoy life. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager. At the beginning of April, T2S had the privilege of hosting sailing legend Tom Cunliffe in Falmouth aboard our Tallship, Spirit of Falmouth. Tom is a Patron of Turn to Starboard and wanted to find out more about the work that we do. About Tom Tom is a British yachting journalist, author and broadcaster. He learnt how to sail in a 22-ft gaff sloop as a teenager on the Norfolk Broads. After studying law at university, he chose not to enter the profession and ran away to sea instead. Tom has worked as mate on a coasting merchant vessel and skippered private yachts as well as having been a delivery and charter skipper. He was a sailing tutor for many years, progressing from running a dinghy sailing school in the south of France to becoming a senior offshore instructor at the British National Sailing Centre in Cowes. Tom has been a qualified yachtmaster examiner since 1978. His many cruises in his own yachts span the Atlantic from the Arctic to the South Atlantic, east to west as far as you can go.

We've FINALLY set sail guys! Im soooooo excited 🤗 Its been a long hard year on the hard doing oodles of boat work, from fully gel-coating our previously painted boat to new rigging and copper-coat, all while dealing with a MAJOR spinal injury, its been ALOT! But we got through it, and it's paid off, because guys... look where we are!
