Cette fin d’après-midi ressemblait à beaucoup d’autres au mouillage. Nous rencontrons une famille qui voyage aussi en voilier avec un petit garçon de deux ans. Très vite, le courant passe : les parents discutent pendant que nos enfants jouent ensemble sur Morrodub. Un moment simple, comme il y en a souvent en voyage. Nous ne le savons pas encore… mais ce sera la première et la dernière fois que nous les verrons. Quelques heures plus tard, en pleine nuit, leur catamaran prend feu au mouillage. En très peu de temps, l’incendie devient incontrôlable et le bateau finit par couler. Dans cette vidéo, on vous montre les images irréelle de ce qu’il reste du bateau le lendemain. Une histoire qui rappelle à quel point tout peut basculer rapidement en mer.

Vivre en voilier, c’est du rêve… mais aussi plus physique qu’on ne l’imagine ⚓💪 ! Entre préparation du bateau, petites galères et surprises, on vous montre la réalité à Fidji 🇫🇯 On part explorer Castaway Island avec un objectif un peu fou : retrouver le célèbre ballon Wilson du film "Seul au monde" avec Tom Hanks 🎬 Bon… on ne l’a pas trouvé 😅 mais l’endroit est incroyable ! La saison cyclonique a commencé 🌪️ Il est temps pour nous de rejoindre Vuda Marina afin de préparer le bateau pour 4 mois de stockage (dans l’eau). Préparer un voilier pour plusieurs mois, c’est une longue liste de choses à faire… et à ne surtout pas oublier ⚓ À Vuda Marina, même monter et descendre du bateau devient un vrai défi 💪 👉 Vivre en voilier, ça maintient clairement en forme : souple, musclé… et fatigué 😅 On commence par tout rincer à l’eau douce, puis on enlève les voiles, on nettoie, on range, on organise… Bref, c’est du boulot ! Depuis Montréal, je traverse clandestinement le continent sur des trains de marchandises, dors sous des ponts, fuis la police ferroviaire et découvre la réalité brutale de la route. Après des milliers de kilomètres d’errance, j’atteins le Yukon. Avec les dernières économies qu’il me reste, j’achète un vieux canoë et descends seul la Yukon River en direction de l’Alaska. Là-bas, je vais vivre plusieurs semaines dans la nature sauvage du Grand Nord, au milieu des grizzlys, loin de toute civilisation. Puis je rencontre de véritables hobos américains, avec qui je partage la route et la vie en marge pendant plusieurs semaines. Ce film est le récit de cette quête. Un voyage qui a profondément transformé l’homme que je suis devenu aujourd’hui.
