Replacing a 2 year old impeller. The current one was still working fine but it was 2 years old. Basic maintenance is to replace it needed or not every new season. Many people don't maintain or actually neglect the beating heart of a sailboat. (It's Engine). You can sail with out a motor but it is absolutely a needed part of your sailboat. The year 2022 starts with a new seasonal job on a Swan 112, in the Caribbean. A busy season, sailing between the islands from Antigua to the BVI, several times. After the winter season an Atlantic crossing to Cascais for maintenance and in July the delivery to Palma. Immediately after that, a delivery of a Swan 66 from Spain to Athens and then a period of time off, due to personal loss and a surgery, until late December, when we started with a Swan 651 from Cartagena to Gran Canaria. 6400 nautical miles added to the total sailed on Swans.

History was made at the Superyacht Cup Palma today when the 24m Wally yacht Rose became the first ever three-time winner of the iconic event, remarkably completing the achievement over three successive years on the Bay of Palma.

Not every stop is planned… and sometimes those are the best ones. We dropped anchor in Puerto Patillas, Puerto Rico and were blown away. A peaceful anchorage, a waterfront park with a playground (perfect for homeschooling days), live music, and even iguanas roaming around—it quickly became one of those unexpected favorites. But the real goal? Vieques Island. After a rolly night in Esperanza, we moved to the calm anchorage of Puerto Ferro—and that’s when the adventure really began. A long dinghy ride in the dark brought us to Mosquito Bay, the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world… and it did NOT disappoint. Every movement lit up the water in glowing blue. One of the most surreal experiences we’ve ever had. We wrapped it up exploring Puerto Ferro—hiking, paddleboarding through mangroves, and even spotting baby spotted eagle rays. La R4WO part le 15 mars 2015 de Bordeaux. Cette expédition a pour objectif de se rendre sur les plages des îles situées dans les 5 gyres de déchets afin de faire le premier état des lieux global de la pollution des océans par les plastiques et de mettre en exergue les conséquences de cette dernière sur les populations. Et ce, en un temps record de moins de 300 jours grâce à un trimaran de course, le « MOD70 Race for Water ». La R4WO espère apporter des réponses à cette problématique qui représente la pire catastrophe écologique de l’Histoire. THE JULES VERNE TROPHY, A LEGENDARY RECORD Around the world in eight days was published by Jules Verne in 1873 and inspired sailors to create one of the greatest ocean adventures of modern times, the Jules Verne Trophy. Since the first attempts in the winter of 1993, the crewed round the world record has attracted a lot of interest. Far from being over, it already has a rich history. By taking part in his first crewed record attempt, Francis Joyon could well write a new chapter in this saga… After a fantastic race, Peyron won the tenth edition of the Route du Rhum with a time of 7 days, 15 hours 8 minutes and 32 seconds – a new race record! Now in the colours of IDEC SPORT with Francis Joyon at the helm, the maxi trimaran has not yet finished harvesting successes… Francis Joyon Francis Joyon back, but this time with a crew by tackling the legendary Jules Verne Trophy, the crewed round the world voyage, at the helm of a maxi trimaran (ex Groupama 3 then Banque Populaire VII). The time to beat is 45 days 13 hours 42 minutes and 53 seconds set in 2012 by Loïck Peyron and his crew on Banque Populaire V. If he manages to do better, Francis Joyon will become the first man to hold the two finest world records sailing solo and with a crew. The bar is high up, but certainly not above the capability of a sailor like Francis Joyon.
