Museo Atlántico, off the south coast of Lanzarote consists of 12 installations and more than 300 life-size human figures, created by British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor. The collection is designed to provoke environmental awareness and social change, with each piece creating an artificial reef. Some of the new installations are Immortal : A Mold of a local fisherman from the north coast of Lanzarote, the sculpture is made up of a series of concrete sticks and it is representing a traditional funeral pyre. Rubicon : A group of 35 figures walking towards a boundary between two realities. The wall is intended to be a monument to absurdity, a dysfunctional barrier in the middle of a vast fluid, three-dimensional space to remind us that we cannot segregate our oceans, air, climate or wildlife. Deregulated : A children’s playground enjoyed by suited businessmen. A swing, a sea-saw. Demonstrating the arrogance of the corporate world towards the natural world. Human Gyre : Over 200 life-size figurative works creating a vast circular formation or gyre. A complex reef formation for marine species to inhabit and is a poignant statement for visitors reminding us that we have evolved from marine life.

After a good look at Pangkor Marina, go with us for a tour of Pangkor Island where you will see the Dutch Fort, the Foo Ling Kong Temple, the Kiland Satay Ican Hay Seng Hin dry seafood factory, a traditional wooden boat building yard and finally have a memorable 8-course lunch on Nipah Beach. Next day takes us to a shopping tour to a hardware store, Prestige Marine Service (a real epoxy, sealants, marine paints and more professional store followed by the famous Pangkor Cruisers Party. Last day, after a nautical cruisers flea market, we all come to the marina Sunday's BBQ potluck. Around 60 Hanse and Dehler yachts competed for victory in their class at this year's Hanse Cup. For the 22nd time the Hanse (Deutschland) Vertriebs GmbH & Co. KG organized the sporting event for yacht owners, charter crews and yacht teams. From Greifswald we sailed via Stralsund, Hiddensee and Sassnitz back to the Greifswald Bodden. After a sunny opening weekend, the wind picked up and put the racing skills of the teams to the test off Hiddensee and Rügen.
