After the hurricane, he was gifted a damaged 37ft sailboat named Oopsea. JT repaired the boat himself, spending thousands of pounds on repairs and storage fees. He successfully got the boat back into the water and finally had a home again. Soon after, he returned to the boatyard to fix a rudder bearing issue. Once repairs were finished, he was suddenly presented with a salvage bill of around $13,000 USD. JT says the salvage bill was never agreed to and included charges for work never done. When he refused to pay, the boat was effectively held in the yard. Storage fees continued increasing month after month while the dispute dragged on. During that time, equipment and gear were allegedly stolen from the boat. The salvage company later dismissed the salvage debt, but the storage debt remained. At 80 years old, JT was left effectively homeless again and uncertain if he could ever recover his boat. A GoFundMe was started to help JT either recover or replace his home on the water

Laut Windfinder sollte der Wind zur Nacht abnehmen. Tat er auch. Für eine halbe Stunde. Dann setzte er erneut ein. Aus exakt der entgegengesetzten Windrichtung. Ein riesiges Tiefdruckgebiet hatte sich aufgebaut. Und der türkische Wetterdienst meldete 9 bis 10 Windstärken - in Böen elf. Arrrghhhhhhhh....

We go over to Seaside Heights Boardwalk and also visit an excellent little seafood restaurant, but the big news is that I get to fly home and see the family again. When I landed in New Orleans, Deb, Whitney, and Swab met me at the airport with a big ole sign welcoming me home. It was great to hug all their necks. Chaz didn't come to the airport because she was over at one of her friend's houses visiting before we move to Florida. As you can imagine, moving at 13 feels life-altering, so we want to allow her that time to say goodbye. When back on board, we install some new bilge pumps. SVDreamChaser had 3 in it, but the third one was not working. The first two did, but if we were going to be away from the boat for some time, I wanted to be very sure about bilge pumps. We ended up installing three new ones to be safe. Our primary is a Rule 2000 gph - https://amzn.to/2EZAiHp Our secondary is an 1100 gallons per hour pump - https://amzn.to/2K4gLtr And our big safety net is a 3700 gallons per hour pump - https://amzn.to/2MQzNG3 We then put in a new primary unit with a smaller Rule that is a lower profile, but I would not recommend this one. Rather than a float switch, it kicks on at a particular frequency, and if it detects water being pumped, it continues, if not it turns off.
