Partir pour une semaine de navigation en Corse en plein mois de juillet, c'était s'assurer de se retrouver avec beaucoup de voisin au mouillage. En fait, non, pas vraiment. Nous nous sommes même retrouvés seuls, pour une nuit, sur un mouillage généralement bien fréquenté. Mis à part à Roccapina, les autres mouillages où nous avons jeté l'ancre, dans l'ordre : Cacalu, Cala d'Orzu, Cala Longa, Roccapina, Cala di Brijia, Porto Pollo puis la Castagna se sont avérés plutôt calmes. Cette semaine sur l'eau s'est vue ponctuée par une avarie sur le génois avec la rupture de la manille de drisse. Cela nous a contraint à naviguer sous grand-voile seule pour rejoindre la Cala di Brijia, où nous avons attendu le lendemain matin en raison de la houle, pour monter au mât. Après quelques litres de sueur et une réparation de fortune, nous avons pu repartir et naviguer avec un peu de génois en plus de la GV à un rythme pépouz. Puis à la fin des vacances, nous avons dû affaler le génois pour le ramener à la maison afin de le recoudre par endroit. Il s'en suivra une sortie de l'eau pour le bateau avec pas mal de travaux : - un carénage - un changement d'hélice pour le moteur (remise en place de l'hélice d'origine) - deux montées au mât pour inspection et changement de pièce (réas des drisse de GV et génois, balancine, etc.) - un démontage de hublot + étanchéité refaite - un démontage de l’étai de génois pour sortir le tambour et l'émerillon d'enrouleur à changer - plein d'autre chose (remplacement de la vache à eau, etc.) Les pièces n'étant pas toute arrivées dans le temps imparti de la mise au sec, je suis à nouveau remonté au mât par 2 fois, au mouillage, pour remplacer le feu de mât et remettre les axes et réas, non sans en avoir fait tomber un dans le mât, ce qui m'a valu de devoir en commander de nouveau. Aujourd'hui, l'enrouleur de génois fonctionne, le génois est réparé et hissé. La grand-voile se hisse à nouveau sans trop d'effort, l'hélice est beaucoup plus performante et le bateau est bien plus manœuvrable qu'avec l’hélice bec-de-canard. Nous allons maintenant pouvoir profiter d'une nouvelle semaine de vacances en septembre pour tester tout ça. The Beneteau 473 is an excellent all-around cruising yacht. It's well built, has a large and comfortable interior, a reasonable draft of 5' 7", and an ICW-friendly air draft of +/- 63'. It's hard to find a comparable boat in the 44' to 50' range that offers as much as the 473 for less than $200,000. Phantom has had two owners who have taken excellent care of it. The current owner purchased Phantom in 2020 in SC and relocated it to Michigan after having the hull painted a light khaki color. She was sailed seasonally in fresh water and stored on the hard each winter with the cockpit shrink-wrapped and the mast unstepped. The mast was inspected and cleaned each spring before Phantom was relaunched. A bow thruster was installed in 2025. After leaving one of the most welcoming villages we’ve ever visited in the southern Natuna Islands, we set sail toward our next destination — the Anambas Islands. Our first stop looked incredible… but getting in wasn’t straightforward. The entrance to the anchorage wound its way through a narrow gap in the reefs, and with our deep-draft boat, that always brings a level of nerves. Slowly and carefully, we picked our way through. But once inside, the reward was immediate. Crystal-clear water, coral visible beneath the boat, dramatic rock formations rising out of the sea, and one of the most beautiful anchorages we’ve seen in a long time. We spent the following days exploring by dinghy, kayak, and sailing dinghy, relaxing on beaches as a family, and soaking in a place we know we’ll never forget. Skipper sails around the world from west to east via the three major capes of Good Hope, Leeuwin and the Horn. W sobotę 28.10.2017 w Lizbonie finiszowały jachty pierwszego biegu okołoziemskich regat Volvo Ocean Race ⛵🌎⛵ Pogoda dopisała i było 29 stopni! Do tego bardzo słaby wiatr na finiszu dość skutecznie spowolnił regatowe maszyny, dzięki czemu kibice dłużej mogli podziwiać zmagania. No i sobota w okolicy południa! Przywitanie w tych warunkach po prostu musiało być liczne. Michał Palczyński wybrał się zobaczyć finisz z bliska naszym jachtowym pontonem 😎 Z jednej strony jego niewielkie rozmiary powodują, że na krzyżującej się fali jest mało stabilny. Jednak można nim wyciągnąć do 15 węzłów, więc była większa szansa dotrzymania tempa jachtom VOR. No i jest z gumy, więc łatwiej się przeciskać w tłumie 😉🌞 Zapraszamy więc na videorelację! A question we are often asked is "What is the best way to start sailing?" You could buy a big yacht and start learning but it is expensive and if you do not like the feel of sailing it will cost you a lot of time, effort and money. Try popping down to the local marina and telling the owner of a 40ft boat that you want to have a go steering their pride and joy and see how far you get..... :-) A simpler and cheaper way is to start at a local Dinghy club and (quite literally) learn the ropes. Almost everything you learn is transferable to larger boats and it has the added advantage that you will be captain of your own dinghy in very short order.
