It has been one year, to the day, when our English Bully passed; her name was Tootsie and she died at the age of 12. After having arrived in The Whitsunday Islands, we leave Long Island to first head for Airlie Beach then sail to South Molle Island. South Molle was always known as one of the major resorts in the area geared for families. A swimming pool, golf course and beach activities, barbeques and a traditional seafood night on Friday was the norm. This all changed when Cyclone Debbie destroyed the island and most of the other resorts in 2017. We take a look at its present ghostlike state after having fond memories of visiting when it was a thriving tourist resort. (May 2025) In this video, we wake up to a sudden squall and the terrifying sight of our neighbor’s boat nearly colliding with us. After a frantic untangling, we head to Tahiti to repair our leaking watermaker. The repair reveals a bigger problem, requiring a major part to be shipped from the U.S. Once the part finally arrives, we complete the repair and reinstall the watermaker, hopeful for no more leaks. But a new and major issue arises during the reinstallation, pushing our frustration to an all-time high and making us question our sailing life. From medical training to rigging inspections, we took every chance to prepare for the open seas. Detta trots att vi fått motsatt besked muntligt.
