Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail! As we close out this year and step into 2026, we wanted to take a moment to look back before we look forward. This past year has been our most challenging yet - filled with incredible highs and devastating lows. From our time exploring New Zealand and living the van life, to hosting amazing charters in some of the world's most beautiful places. From my Achilles tendon surgery that changed everything about our plans, to the strain it put on our relationship and the months we spent apart. We faced loss this year - saying goodbye to a dear friend and Warren losing his father. We navigated pain, uncertainty, and moments where we weren't sure what our future would look like. But we also found our way back. To each other, to VA, and to this life we've chosen. This year taught us more than any other - about resilience, about what really matters, about holding on and knowing when to let go. It was a rollercoaster we never saw coming, but one that shaped us in ways we're still discovering. As we stand here now, finally home on VA and ready to start this new chapter, we wanted to share this journey with you. Not just the highlights, but the real, raw, difficult parts too. TrawlerFest Anacortes 2026 was held at Cap Sante Marina in Anacortes, Washington, bringing together trawler owners, future cruisers, industry professionals, and some of the most recognizable names in the trawler community. Anacortes has long been one of our favorite boating destinations. This year's event was especially memorable for JMYS because it marked the first TrawlerFest attended by our newest broker, Max Merrill. Thank you everyone for checking in on us, we're finally back! It has been a crazy ride this far, but we've found some new motivation to keep moving. With a new mindset and a new approach to this project, we decided we needed a whole new season to capture it. For us, it's go time! We are starting to run dangerously low on budget and have decided that we need to get in the water ASAP. Our new plan is to evacuate to one of the islands in the Caribbean to take advantage of cheaper yard rates. In order to get there, we have a LOT to finish to make the trip including Rigging, Steering, Rudders, Anchoring, Power, and Water . . . no small feat. Not only are we racing our budget, but are also racing time now as well. Will we make it? We aren't sure, but we are laying it all on the line to find out! We continue our journey south from Stranraer in Scotland across the North Channel to Bangor in Ireland. Here we manage to refuel, stock up with food and cycle along the coastal path in both directions. We then set sail for Ardglass for an overnight stop before heading over to Holyhead in Wales.
