This week we prepare for and enroll SVDreamChaser into the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival. Each year in October, people bring boats from nearby states for a classic display of quality boats and workmanship. There is a cool history here for us in that our boat was in this show in 2001 with the previous owner. When we first bough her, we found a participation plaque on board from the show. So with all the work we have done, we took a shot and brought her into the show We placed 3rd in the Sailboat category, which sounds really impressive until you realize there were only 4 of them there :) Either way, we had a blast and would definitely do this again, it was so cool to meet so many people that have been fans of the youtube show and brought it up to us upon meeting them. Voici le troisième épisode d'une modeste présentation de nos 50 jours consécutifs passés à naviguer sur le Lac Champlain en 2019. Nous répétons le même scénario depuis plusieurs années, mais nous n'avions jamais pris le temps de documenter et surtout, de présenter notre expérience. Nous naviguons à 4 (2 adultes, 2 enfants en bas âge) sur un Hunter 30 Cherubini 1980 que nous avons remis à notre goût ces dernières années. Nous tenons habituellement de 8 à 9 jours avec notre réservoir d'eau et le réservoir d'eaux noires. Cette année, nous avons hissé les voiles chaque jour pour lesquels nous avons navigué. Nous avons parcouru une distance totale de 610 miles nautiques sur le fond et consommé 32 litres de diesel en 7 semaines. la plus grande distance parcourue sur le fond fut de 35,2 miles nautiques en près de 7 hrs 30. Il n'y a eu qu'une seule journée complète de pluie... notre vitesse de croisière se situe aux alentours de 5 noeuds. Nous espérons inspirer ceux qui doutent du plaisir que l'on peut avoir à naviguer sur le Lac Champlain avec une jeune famille et partager quelques'uns de nos mouillages et des quelques moments de bonheurs passés sur l'eau. If the world had not been turned upside down by the spread of the Corona Virus this weekend would have been launch day for the 2020 sailing season. With no end to the lock down in sight we don't know when we will hit the water for our next sailing adventure. There is no point letting the Lock Down stop you from doing what you love, so, if you can't go sailing then we at bottom up boats say "Bring the sailing to you". With a little bit of planning and some spare parts from the garage we turned the boys backyard jungle gym into a racing ketch. Privilege 450, 5 Cabin Layout Yr: 1998 Location: Costa Blanca South, SPAIN Current Price: £ 220,000 Tax Paid When the owner originally purchased this catamaran he was searching far and wide for a well-built catamaran able to take him and his family anywhere in comfort and safety. After a lot of painstaking research and after exploring the other options on the market, in the way of the newer well-known production catamarans available. He felt that the build quality was just not good enough and after much deliberation, with the conclusion that the Privilege was the only vessel that fitted his requirements "they just don't build em like they used too" he felt he would rather purchase an older vessel and completely refit it. The end result is "Graceful Day's"..... Any yacht produced in the Privilege range is renowned for its superb build quality and seakeeping. This catamaran is purposeful and solidly built, a real "ocean crosser"! Without doubt I would rather be doing an ocean crossing in this catamaran with my family than any other modern brand production boat available. I know one of this particular model that has done a circumnavigation and a trip to the Arctic CircleThis sought after model is everything you would expect from a privilege. "Graceful Day's" has undergone a major refit with no expense spared, bristling with new equipment and additions, rewired including LED lighting fitted throughout the list goes on! Sadly the owners' situation has changed and this awesome catamaran is now on the market ready for a new owner to take her off on new adventures. The engines have had a major overhaul by the Main Dealer with a new gearbox fitted sail drive collars replace etc, etc, etc, re-upholstered, windows replaced, mast and boom removed and painted white etc, etc, etc. She has also undergone a complete anti-osmosis treatment. In the marina, she really does sit there like "a rose amongst thorns" looking elegant in comparison to the other catamarans around her. With her five cabin layout, she would make a great charter option or safe comfortable cruising for a large family. Acres of space and storage inside and out with large flat decks and sunbathing areas.Rarely available, especially in this condition, this is a large catamaran that offers you a lot of boat for your money. This is as cheap as chips for what it is! Simply stunning!

We are in George Town, a popular cruising destination in the Exumas, Bahamas. September 18-19 50°57’45.2″N 1°50’54.5″E Sail from Amsterdam Marina to Calais, France: 149nm 21hrs Fair winds Clear skies – and yet ANOTHER firey orange sunset! Just the thought of heading out onto the North Sea again made us a little nervous. However, we couldn’t have had a more lovely start! The sun was shining, the seas were relatively calm & it was 18 degrees Celcuis! We didn’t imagine it could be this delightful on the North Sea! We were hopeful, to say the least, as the sun set & we were heading into darkness. However, we got ourselves into a dangerous position in relation to a cluster of cargo ships that were coming at us at a speed of 13knots! We ended up having our worst, scariest night-sail yet! Gratefully, with the morning, comes new hope! Sailing into the mooring area of Calais Marina was a relief & we were kindly issued a mooring ball to hook up to. We experienced a major tide-difference for the first time as sailors. We found out that the tides change every few hours & have a difference of about 7meters!! We explored the fortress next to the harbor and later found the boardwalk along the beach. There was an old fortress at the harbor and later on we found the boardwalk along the beach. On the way there, though, we noticed a large glass garage with people lining up to go inside. A huge dragon was behind the window. After observing, we saw it start moving, and after the people were mounted on the dragon’s back, it began to walk (roll) out of the glass garage! Not only that, but as it started it’s “walk” along the promenade, it blew out real fire and sprayed water at the audience on the ground! (I was a little concerned that the operator could get the fire & water button mixed up and singe a few people!) This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Calais, for the boys. Since we entered into a new country, we were obliged to buy the boys another ice cream, according to our deal (1 country – 1 ice cream – 1 picture)! Lucky for us, there was an ice cream kiosk on the promenade. It was both cheap and the server was generous with the scoops! (Mommy got her picture of the boys on the beach, too!)

Andy got inspired to call Ben when he saw an ad for a 65-foot converted Swedish Navy ship for sale in Stockholm as a place to live on the water. We always get anxious taking Jaygo through poorly charted passages into Fiji's beautiful lagoons. This one was a little difficult due to the sea state being a bit rough which made the reef boundaries very hard to see and the pass itself is quite narrow with plenty of shallow bommies in the "channel".
