In 2009 nam ik deel aan onze eerste Sardine Run expeditie. We kregen toen een gigantische bait ball op het bord met alles erop en eraan. Het smaakte naar meer! Nu 7 jaar later gaan de gesprekken nog vaak over deze unieke ervaring. Beelden van enorme scholen sardienen, jagende dolfijen, meer dan 20 meter diep duikende vogels en walvissen die vlak naast jou uit het water komen gedoken en terug verdwijnen... Het is bijna onmogelijk om de intensiteit van dergelijk spektakel te evenaren! Sinds 2012 zakken we jaarlijks af naar de "Wild Coast" in Zuid-Afrika om ons geluk te beproeven. Hoewel de kers op de taart vaak ontbrak, werden de deelnemers telkens opnieuw overweldigd door het avontuur en de ongelofelijke natuur-ervaringen. De spanning van de zoektocht, de adrenaline, ... iedereen genoot met volle teugen. Naast de "gewone" ontmoetingen met bultruggen, dolfijnen en haaien, gaan we uiteraard elke keer opnieuw wél voor de kers op de taart! BAIT BALL!!!!! Belangrijk bij een deelname aan dergelijke expeditie is het besef dat Sardine Run niet alleen om bait balls draait. Zelfs indien de sardienen forfait geven, zijn alle bijhorende predators (jagers) in de buurt. Bij afwezigheid van bait balls verleggen wij de focus van deze reis dan ook onmiddellijk naar een "wildlife experience". Zo werd er in het verleden ook gedoken met mola mola, en genoot iedereen van unieke momenten onder water met Bultrug walvissen, haaien en dolfijnen! It came to life from a true passion of the sea. This established event will celebrate the 12’ Dinghy, nearly 100 years old, this one of the only designs that has succeeded in keeping traditional.

Spindrift just passed some icebergs 50 nautical miles away ans there are 2 detected in the next 200 miles, one of 300 m and the other one 400m but the area is favorable for Spindrift so the team have to adjust the route. To undertake the crewed around-the-world record is as much about the human adventure as it is a technical and sporting challenge. The men and women working alongside Dona Bertarelli and Yann Guichard at Spindrift racing have been preparing this race against the clock for almost three years. The target: to sail around the world in less than 45 days, 13 hours and 42 minutes. The tough record they will try to beat was set by Loïck Peyron and his crew in 2012 on Banque Populaire V, which was renamed Spindrift 2 a year later. The French-Swiss team decided to use the same 40 m trimaran because they believed that the boat could be further optimised, a task that sailors, engineers and technicians at the team have been working on ever since. After countless hours of work at the boatyard and 40,000 nautical miles of racing and training, the Spindrift racing-prepared trimaran is all set to go. In this episode we enjoy sailing to the Isle of Jura where we discover an honesty tea shed selling cakes and drinks made by a group of local children. We then enjoy a very hot passage to the Isle of Gigiha and enjoy ourselves swimming in a very chilly sea. I manage to help a fellow sailor whose anchor is fouled by another anchor before setting off for a very foggy passage around the Mull of Kintrye to Campbeltown to meet up with friends. This episode is the first part of a series of video montages called "Zebulon the Musical". The journey took place in the Caribbean, in the isles of St Vincent and the Grenadines. About me, I'm a pirate (of the heart) without a boat, and my sweet home in the hills of Jerusalem got swallowed up last summer in a forest fire. After years of sailing on other peoples boats or rentals, I'm making this long time dream come true and turning the hardship of a destroyed home into a blessing. About the home that burned down: For the last ten years, I've been blessed to live most of the year on a magical, beautiful and abundant hillside in the forest 20 minutes outside of Jerusalem. My friends call the land that I've been living on "heaven." The owners of the land have an enchanted wooden home on the land, and operate a woodshop on the land making biblical harps. My heart, sweat, many memories and dreams are tied to this land. I built many of the features myself, planted many fruit trees and a garden, and it all turned into ash from a forest fire. Nobody humans were hurt or burned on the property, and I'm relearning the lesson about what is and isn't important in life. About the boat: Greece is a great place to get a boat, practice sailing around the islands, and sail to Israel. I'll be looking to get a 39 foot monohull that is tall enough for me to stand in, safe and comfortable enough to live in, and has room for friends. If it has a crows-nest on the top, that would be bonus.

In Martinique I go with friends in the north of the island and live in the wild for 14 days. I am Roxana, I come from Romania and I am so happy to document this precious perioud of my life of living on a boat in the tropics. Like all of us, I hope to keep memories at heart of that what i deeply love: music, the sea, life and travel❤
