This is something really special! We were invited to a very special event put on by Auto-Archives (William and Jo Taylor) hosted at the Golden, CO Hagerty office. It was a recreation of the official Goodwood Revival. We even had a very special message from Lord March himself! Everyone was encouraged to dress in period clothes and we all brought our older classic cars. Auto-Archives and Hagerty put on an incredible event that was also a nice fundraiser for Auto-Archives. The team at Hagerty went all out and their office was amazing! We had a live video feed of the races and even had our own racing on the elaborate slot car track set up with authentic corners and cars. What a night! Food was great as well. With the reinforcement from Denmark Per can we finally leave Cuxhaven and we set course towards Ijmuiden in the Netherlands. The weather is extremely calm which is good for Anders hurting back. The most exiting thing that happened was that we suddenly saw a Nato Submarine in the haze quiet close to us(the sub is at 19:46) We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. The sailing in our home water the Baltic Sea is part of our preparation to sail to the Mediterranean Sea. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boat and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders a 4 years ago. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Litza is a Devon Rex cat and she is the real cattain aboard. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea.

Introducing "OHANA", 2016 Horizon E75 “Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.” (Lilo & Stitch) Aptly named Ohana, the Hawaiian name for family, as there is room for the entire family on board the E75 with three staterooms, an extended aft-deck, large saloon, aft galley and jacuzzi on the flybridge deck.

Die Renovierung der Backbordmotorbilge geht weiter, der Boden wird geglättet, eine Membranbilgepumpe angepasst und Kabeldurchführungen vom Mast ins Deckshaus gebaut Die kalte Jahreszeit nähert sich mit Riesenschritten, ich baue Kabeldurchführungen vom Mast bis zum Deckshaus und arbeite am Winchenpodest und an der Backbordmotorbilge weiter, zulezt wird die Bilgepumpe angepasst. Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei komplett überholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. We replace a tailpipe on a seacock and get our other reverse Cycle heater working. We take on water to survive a deep freeze. lol We pay out all our chain, check it's condition, and paint it. Bartholome, along with her sister ship Anna, are both excellent training yachts and offer a great platform on which to learn to sail or progress your skills. At 13m (42ft) they offer a great compromise, with easy handling and ample accommodation space. In terms of sailing, the classic hull shape offers sublime performance on all points of sail with a controllable rig, well set up for a wide range of wind speeds. On the power side the Harmony 42 is a perfect introduction to charter yachts and will set you on a path to stress-free manoeuvers.

Teil 2: 3. Mai 2024: wir wetterten einige Tage in Syros Ermiopolis ab und segelten dann bei tollen 20 kn Wind nach Mykonos. Mykonos ab Minute: 5:29 In Mykonos waren wir von 6. bis 7. Mai. Es war super zu reservieren und kostete nur 20 Euro für 2 Nächte. Wir kommen sicher wieder ! Link für die Reservierung: https://mykonosports.gr/de/marina_reservations/ Teil 1: https://youtu.be/dhxCbIaXpeA Am Donnerstag, den 25.04.2024 flogen wir nach Athen und fuhren zu unserer Furtuna, einer Bavaria 40 Cruiser nach Galatas. Dort verbrachte sie ihren ersten Winter im BoatParking Kalypso. Wir bestaunten dort die tolle Winterarbeit, füllten Wasser auf, bekamen eine neue 80 m 10 mm-Kette und zogen unsere Segel hoch. Beim Einrollen des Groß-Segeln zogen wir uns leider eine Wulst ein, die nicht mehr vor noch zurück ging. Uns blieb nichts anderes übrig, als in dien Mast zu gehen und die Wulst mit viel Gewalt, drücken und schieben wieder in die dünne Mastöffnung zu stopfen. Dabei bluteten meine Finger, aber es klappte am Ende. Sa 27.04.24: Wir wurden erfolgreich ins Wasser gelassen und wir wollten gleich - im Wind ankernd - das Segel raus ziehen. Leider klappte das dann auch nicht und so musste ich ich noch mal in den Mast. Diesmal die Wulst mit den Fingern zu versuchen im Mast kleiner zu bekommen und Zentimeter-Weise das Segel wieder raus ziehen. Es dauerte noch mal eine Stunde aber es klappte. Bei der ganzen Aufregung zog ich beim Spifall am falschen Ende und ich zog es den Mast hoch. Es war zum verrückt werden. Viele Versuche, es mit Bootshaken zu fassen, schlug fehl und so war klar, ich muss noch ein 3. mal in den Mast. Wir fuhren unter Motor aber erst mal in den nächsten Hafen von Ägina nach Perdika und freuten uns, dass endlich der Törn startet. So 28.4.24: Es war Meltemi angesagt und so entschieden wir in das gegenüberliegende Epidaurus zu fahren. Es war toller Segelwind und so ergatterten wir noch einen Platz an der Hafenmole. Die wurde übrigens zum Abend hin komplett voll und mindestens 10 Boote ankerten in der Bucht. Für Ende April hatten wir das nicht erwartet. Die Ortschaft gefiel uns nicht. Den angeblichen Bus zum Amphitheater gibt es leider nicht. Ein Taxi in Höhe von 45 Euro war uns zu teuer. So legten wir am nächsten Tag wieder ab. Mo 29.04.2024: mit 20 Kn Wind geht es zurück nach Ägina. Diesmal zurück in die Bucht Mazioti. Eine türkise Bucht südlich von Perdika. Di 30.04.24: wir wollten nach Kap Sounio segeln und hofften, dass wir in der Ägäis noch geschützt sind. Heute war der stärkste Tag des Meltemi und als wir von der Landabdeckung von Ägina weg waren, ballerte es auch mit 30 kn Wind. Wir drehten um und verbrachten nochmal einen tollen Abend in Perdika auf Ägina. Mi 1. Mai 2024: endlich klappte es und wir segelten Amwind mit tollem Wind nach Kap Seounion. Es hatte wieder bis zu 30 kn Wind in Böen in der Bucht aber unser neuer Anker + Kette hielt perfekt. Ungemütlich war es trotzdem vor Anker ... Do 2. 05.24: wieder mit über 20 kn Wind segelten wir Richtung Kythnos. Nach der Landabdeckung von Kea wurden leider auch die Wellen höher, aber es war ein toller Ritt nach Kythnos, wo wir in dem Hafen von Loutra Gott sei dank einen Platz fanden. Dieser sollte noch voll werden. Auf dem Weg überholten wir auch Elena und Rainer, mit denen wir Abends dann gemeinsam Essen gingen und einen lustigen Abend hatten. Fr. 3.05.24: wir legten um 8:30 ab und hatten mit Westwind perfekten Segelwind nach Syros. Das meiste legten wir unter Schmetterlings-Besegelung zurück und Reffen mussten wir erst, als wir auf der Ost-Seite von Syros waren. Die Fallwinde sind wirklich enorm. In Syros am Stadthafen war nur ein weiteres Schiff, der Hafenmeister meinte, dass wir morgen nicht sicher wären an der Kai-Mauer und nachdem es so stank vom Verkehr legten wir nach 10 Minuten wieder ab. Wir legten uns in den 1 sm entfernten, verlassenen Südhafen. Das war auch nicht ganz einfach aber dort lagen wir dann sicher 3 Tage. Day 2 delivered a dramatic and extreme contrast to yesterday’s calm conditions, as powerful offshore winds and gusts exceeding 30 knots put the world’s best youth sailors to the ultimate test. Racing kicked off on schedule, with our livestream bringing viewers straight into the action from the very first start. Today’s broadcast featured insightful live commentary from special guests Piotr and Luish, guiding us through the challenging conditions on the water. ⸻ ⚡ iQFOiL Men & Women The iQFOiL fleets were the main focus of today’s livestream, racing in truly brutal conditions. Massive gusts forced some athletes to retire, while others embraced the challenge and delivered outstanding performances. iQFOiL Men completed three races. 🇮🇱 Peleg Rajuan (ISR) kept his cool under pressure, finishing the day with a race win and moving into the overall lead. 🇮🇹 Mattia Saoncella (ITA) followed closely after a strong performance that included a bullet of his own. 🇸🇮 Val Erzen (SLO) claimed the second win of the day and sits third overall. iQFOiL Women completed two races, and it was a day of Italian dominance. 🇮🇹 Medea Falcioni, the 2025 U19 World and European Champion, was unstoppable, taking two bullets to lead the fleet. 🇺🇦 Taisia Stopchenko posted two second-place finishes, while 🇹🇷 Nurhayat Guven holds a strong third overall. ⸻ ⛵ ILCA Fleets The ILCA sailors faced the same survival-style conditions. ILCA 6 Boys 🇮🇹 Alessandro Cirinei retains the overall lead through consistency. 🇧🇷 Francisco Dal Ri climbed into second overall with two third-place finishes. 🇨🇿 Jiri Tomes completes the top three. ILCA 6 Girls The leaderboard remains incredibly tight. 🇩🇪 Mirja Dolhe leads overall, with 🇪🇸 Irene de Tomas and 🇮🇹 Marina Murri tied for second — just two points back, setting up a high-stakes battle going forward. ⸻ 🌊 Multihulls & Skiffs Offshore winds created survival conditions for the Nacra 15 and 29er Female fleets, with many teams unable to finish. •⁠ ⁠Nacra 15: Only one race was completed, won by 🇫🇷 Marius Praud and Emilie Mansouri, extending their overall lead. •⁠ ⁠29er Female: One brutal race was sailed, claimed by 🇬🇧 Lila Edwards and Amelie Hiscocks. •⁠ ⁠420 Female: 🇫🇷 Emy Combet and Juliette Peyre dominated the fleet, winning both races of the day. ⸻ 🚩 Cancellations The extreme conditions sparked intense debate in the Formula Kite areas. Ultimately, racing was cancelled for the day for: •⁠ ⁠Formula Kite •⁠ ⁠29er Male/Mixed •⁠ ⁠420 Male/Mixed ⸻ Overall, Day 2 was defined by power, survival, and exceptional athleticism.
