For the full written captain’s report, test and performance data, and more about the Greenline 39 Solar, go to: http://www.boattest.com/review/greenline/3755_39-solar The Greenline 39 Solar is a versatile cruiser that uses what the builder calls its proprietary “hybrid hull design” to offer stability and efficiency at a range of speeds. The boat we tested – the Greenline 39 Solar – is not equipped with the hybrid propulsion system but instead with a single 370-hp Yanmar diesel. Still, the builder’s experience with hybrid systems and Lithium Polymer batteries shows up in the company’s inventive power-management systems.

GET TO KNOW HER The Oceanis 46.1 offers a true balance between elegance, performance, and comfort. Her stepped hull adds massive amounts of volume below with no compromise to seakeeping abilities. Her deck and cockpit layout make her an easy boat to sail doublehanded, and a large number of custom options and trims ensure she will be tailored to each sailor’s expectations and requirements. Visit https://www.beneteau.com/us/oceanis/oceanis-461 -- About BENETEAU -- The first BENETEAU boats sailed from the shipyards of Croix-de-Vie over 135 years ago. Since that time, the BENETEAU brand has been synonymous with quality and innovation to all those who have taken to the water – first by the fishermen who made their livelihood from the sea and then by the legions of recreational boaters around the globe. Over the years, our commitment to innovating and embracing ideas, no matter how unconventional, has been at the forefront of who we are in order to bring you the best boat possible. BENETEAU was one of the first boatbuilders many years ago to use computer-aided design (CAD) as well as lighter, stronger composite building materials. We’ve also been at the cutting edge of using greener materials and processes to do our part in protecting the incredible world which we explore. However, all this innovation doesn’t mean we’ve turned our back on tradition. One thing we’ve discovered in over a century of boatbuilding is that new-world innovations work best with old-school craftsmanship. This combination has resulted in some of the most iconic sailboats and powerboats in the world – supremely seaworthy yachts renowned for their sense of style, luxury, and comfort along with their creative use of space and new technologies. -- Philosophy -- We’re a lot like you. We love the water in all its forms – the ocean, bays, lakes, and rivers. And we love sharing the boating lifestyle with our family and friends. This love manifests itself in every BENETEAU built in any one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. Every BENETEAU sailboat and powerboat on the water reflects the best efforts of the finest architects, designers, and craftsmen along with the highest quality materials and the latest innovations. When you purchase a BENETEAU, you become a valued member of our BENETEAU family. For this reason, our after-sale service is second to none as evidenced by the multitude of National Marine Manufacturers CSI Awards for Excellence in Customer Service. At the core of this outstanding service is our exceptional dealer network. Every one of our authorized BENETEAU dealers will be there for you – from choosing the right yacht to the handover and beyond. Your dealer will be your able guide when it comes to maintaining your boat properly and will help you maximize the return on your investment when it comes time to step up to another BENETEAU – and it usually does! We wouldn’t have it any other way.

In this episode we continue sailing around the Mentawai islands in Indonesia, and anchored a little too close for comfort when waves start to break right off our transom! We end up spending some time at one of the nicest and longest running resorts in the area, before setting sail again to the northern islands... If you want to go to Aloita resort, just use your normal booking website. We don't have an affiliate link or anything. I recommend staying at least a week though, and make sure you tell them we say hi! SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are now sailing through Asia and planning to cross the Indian Ocean!! Meet Bertil, our new crew member that joined us spontaneously in Kumealon Inlet :) The sun is shining in "Rainy Rupert" and we sail in a foggy Inside Passage in British Columbia. We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter, January 2016, and started sailing south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us. Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V700 with a Rode External mic with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action, underwater scenes and small blogging is done with two Osmo action cams. Some boat shots are done with a Dji gimbal camera. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. After four days waiting out the weather in Mykonos (Greece), we finally head off southwest and west toward Malta, the first major leg of a trip that eventually extends all the way to the Caribbean. But within hours we receive a chilling Pan Pan (distress call) notifying us and others of a tragedy in the making. A diver has become entangled in fishing nets, and as we discover later, has died. This is a nightmare shared by sailors worldwide, the realization that nets have wrapped around your prop and you have no alternative but to dive to cut them free. Being too far away to respond, we continue on, shaken and saddened to be sure. By dusk, we’ve reached the southern tip of the Peloponnese, the three fingers of land that jut from the bottom of the Greek mainland. We’re amazed to discover that under the strong winds we’d encountered all day we had actually covered a full third of the Aegean Sea! Shipping was heavy in the narrow traffic separation zone between Greece and the island of Kythira, and Wendy was on high alert during her moonlight watch. She held Talisman tight to the edge of the zone while tankers, freighters, and even cruise ships passed silently by. From there it was sailing in all its glory, from light and variable winds that barely kept us moving, to marvelous beam reaches under full and reefed sails that made short work of hundreds of miles. After three days of incredible conditions through surprisingly smooth water, Malta appeared in the mists of a beautiful dawn. The hour or more of waiting for permission to enter didn’t rate well enough to include in the episode, but boy was it worth it. Malta stands as one of the architectural and military wonders of the Mediterranean, and should be a bucket-list destination for any cruiser worldwide. sailing videos; sailing, cruising, monohull, oyster, oyster yachts

After a roller coaster 3 day sail from Honduras to Mexico, we arrive in Marina Chiapas. Our hands are full with lots of boat work from troubleshooting our fuel issue from when we broke down at sea to fixing our transmission shaft seal leak. This nomadic lifestyle is super rewarding but it does not come without a bit of hard work. This episode shows a bit of both sides as once our boat projects are finished, we take a couple days off to relax and enjoy our time in an Airbnb with a couple sailing friends! We apologize for the long delay between videos. We've been sailing in areas that are rather remote. No internet. No cell phone coverage. (not much beer). Forget about vegatables. Nothing but deserted islands with a few perfect palm trees. Throw in some kiteboarding, spearfishing and snorkling and you have perfection. In this episode we go back a ways. We explore the back alleys of Cartagena at night. This place is a beautiful little gem. At some point we get lost in the tunnels of San Felipe. Cartagena is alive with music, people and culture. Not to mention break dancing! Your support allows us to continue making videos to inspire You! All contributions go directly towards the costs of gear and uploading videos from remote places. We left with the forecast calling for 20-25 knots, which is uncomfortable yet manageable. We knew we were in for a surprise when it hit 35 knots. It’s not uncommon to have a burst of wind at sunrise and sunset while sailing offshore. Nature is always seeking equilibrium. Our boat, a 41 foot catamaran, does well in most conditions. But there is a certain sea state when the waves are steep and the period short where it just simply struggles. Life is turned upside down inside. We grit our teeth and hope it’s over soon. And although it’s uncomfortable, it makes that next anchorage so much sweeter! BE BRAVE. It's time to catch you up to why we haven't started the build yet - but, in good news, we get to show you everything that comes in container #1! It's time to catch you up to why we haven't started the build yet - but, in good news, we get to show you everything that comes in container #1! The last we commented on it, the first container was going to arrive in late December, and we'd be starting the build as soon as we got our hands on it. But as we learned during the refit of Elements, you always have to expect the unexpected. There have been delays which is going to stall us getting the first container until February. Make sure to stay tuned for this weeks' video for all the details on why! But the good news is, Max Cruise sent over a string of photos showing the dry fit of our boat, so you can see exactly what she'll look like once we put those first pieces together! Enjoy! Much love from Annapolis! Jessica, Matt & Georgie Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. These amazing supporters help keep us on the boat, our camera equipment up to date, and the videos coming. We never do things the easy way...! The time has come to get our Viking RescYou liferaft serviced. It's about a year overdue (don't worry, it's still safe) and because we're soon to be embarking on another sailing season, we need to get this thing serviced and ready to go. Of course, being us, we decide to get the extremely heavy liferaft off the transom on the one day we have bad weather: the boat was bucking up and down, we had a pillar to negotiate around, and there was just the two of us. Enter our hero, the lovely marina staff here at St John Yacht Harbour, who helped us manhandle the liferaft onto the pontoon. It honestly would have ended up in the water had he not rushed to our rescue. We take it to the local service centre, where the very kind staff unpack it, inflate it, and show us the contents of the emergency bag inside. We sincerely hope this is the one and only time we see the contents of our liferaft!
