Episode 85: Out board engine repair after drowning sailing Despotiko to Poros This episode Cass and Shelly continue their adventures as they repair their outboard which was dunked during a Meltemi storm in Despotika. Once they’ve rested and repaired the outboard it was time to move on to Poros to check out a new island, obtain fuel provisions and top up in water. Hope you enjoy. After a long dark winter, we set off sailing Scotland again in search of some new anchorages. We start the journey with a few spots in the firth of Clyde and an amazing encounter and a rare sighting of a humpback whale. Before we make our way around the Mull of Kintyre, and share a few tips of how we go about passage planning for tricky tidal currents. Music for the video was partly provided by Josh Woodward. You think a ship stops only in port? Surprise 😏 This is what it really looks like when a cargo ship’s Main Engine is stopped in the middle of the ocean. No traffic jams, no honking… just calm seas, silence, and a crew casually doing their job like it’s another day at the office. Stopped doesn’t always mean trouble — sometimes it’s maintenance, checks, or planned operations. Life at sea is peaceful, technical, and way cooler than you imagine 🌊⚙️ If you thought ships run non-stop… welcome to reality.
Navigazione in solitario da Aprilia Marittima (FVG) a Chioggia (VE)
Bluewater Sailboat Refit to Sail around the World: Restoring STEEL MOTORSAILER KETCH while living on a trawler full time. We continue our metal boat restoration project. There might be a lot of passagemaker boats for sale in the world but definitely when you start looking at trawler living in generally and trawler cruising it starts to sink in that there are not a lot of options out there. Trawler life is very different from sailing and people who want to live on a trawler full time are also very different people from sailors for example. Our trawler boat is 1984 Jefferson Motor yacht that we owned for more than 6 years and we were more than happy with it. Iana on the other hand always wanted a boat with sails to circumnavigate the world and that's why we bought our steel motorsailer 1985 De Vries. And now our beautiful passagemaker is amongst other passagemaker yachts for sale. Thank you so much for watching our Passagemaker Trawler Vlog while Restoring Steel Motorsailer in Boatyard video and make sure to give us a BIG like and a quick comment! ⛵🌒 Collaborations or Business Inquiries: hello@dawn-hunters.com

► This week, we’re taking you to the British Virgin Islands for seven days of family sailing aboard a Moorings 5000 (Leopard 50). ► On the itinerary: Tortola, Cooper Island, Saba Rock, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, and Anegada… Exploring these islands and anchorages means short sails of one to three hours per day, except for a beautiful longer crossing to Anegada, a flat coral island set slightly apart from the rest of the archipelago. As for the crew, while Charlotte is already an experienced young sailor, it’s a first for Mahé and Marceau! Also on board: Aude, Joffrey, Laurie, Quentin, Pierre-Yves… and me, Maria. A true nine-person adventure, filled with time under sail, laughter at anchor, and the logistics of life as a floating tribe. ► We’ll also be sharing our sailing experience aboard the Moorings 5000: seaworthiness, cabin comfort, the layout of the convivial galley, how the outdoor spaces work for children… We’ll tell you whether this catamaran is truly well designed for family cruising. ► Sign up for our newsletter and win a free two-month subscription to Multihulls World by clicking here: https://bit.ly/48JP1Vk ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! We enjoy Luaters hamn and all that it has to offer, what a beautiful place. Next we head onto Visby, the winds look great and I can tell you it was an amazing sail but not without some concern as the winds increase. Swirling winds in New York caused major problems launching the fleet of F50s at the Mubadala Sail Grand Prix, so only four boats made it on to the water, and that was rapidly reduced to just three when the Bonds Flying Roos nosedived, causing significant damage. The racing went ahead with just three boats and points were scored. I am sure there will be significant disquiet amongst the teams who couldn't race through no fault of their own, and go into day two on zero points. Leave your thoughts in the comments...
