Mit den Klapprädern geht´s auf Inselerkundung. Kommt mit zur wunderhübschen Chora, mit dem Kloster und der Burgruine auf dem Gipfel und auf die andere Seite der Insel, wo wir in Lanaria Zeuge eines Anlegemanövers werden, das durch den Marinero an Land komplett im Chaos endet. Und dann fängt Dirk noch einen 10 kg schweren Thunfisch. Verhungern werden wir erstmal nicht. Kalimera from the beautiful island of Skyros, the southernmost Sporades island in the western Aegean. Here we seek shelter from the strong ‘Meltemi’ wind in a disused harbour. We explore the island on our folding bikes. Come with us to the beautiful Chora, with the monastery and castle ruins on the summit, and to the other side of the island, where we witness a mooring manoeuvre in Lanaria that ends in complete chaos due to the marinero on land. And then Dirk catches a 10kg tuna. We won't starve for a while.

We left Horta, Azores was hoping to see whale, but did'nt. lots of dolphins. the wind died and we had to go by engine. The a low pressure came. we wanted to go to Brest, France but had to escape from the storm, we manage to be in the edge of the low pressure. was really scary for some time when the storm came. Déjà notre dernière étape sur le continent sud-américain ! Un peu plus de 4 mois passés en Amazonie ; entre le Brésil et la Guyane, quelle aventure ! Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni fût une très belle dernière escale. Et je ne dis pas ça seulement parce que j’y ai retrouvé mon cousin ! C’est simplement la ville la plus agréable et la plus belle de Guyane. Entre son passé de ville pénitentiaire, ses beaux édifices à l’architecture coloniale, ses différents quartiers où se mêle une population métissée, la rive le long du Maroni et la nature luxuriante, Saint-Laurent est une étape à ne pas manquer. Nous avons bien sûr visité et découvert les essentiels : le camp de la Transportation (le bagne), le quartier officiel, le marché, quelques villages alentours comme Javouhey. Avec David et sa fille Lucile, nous goutons à la température rafraichissante de la crique Tatou : petite cascade au milieu de la forêt, endroit bucolique et impression d’être seuls au monde. Ils nous font aussi découvrir plantes, fruits, et fleurs qui poussent tout autour d’eux mais si exotiques pour nous ! Je peux dire aussi que j’ai nagé avec des piranhas ! Le Maroni quant à lui est très puissant et nous sommes heureux d’être l’esprit tranquille à la bouée : c’est un autre Davide qui tient cette « marina » au bord du fleuve. Enfin, la piscine, la boulangerie et les autres facilités qu’offre un département français nous permettent d’y passer 2 semaines en tout confort. Merci à Davide pour la marina (voir Navily et Noforeignland) et à David et Lucile pour les retrouvailles et le partage de leur magnifique région !
