OK, it's not boats however when I'm at shows many times we all discuss cars as I know many of you have a little something special sitting in the garage. So I present a quick complation of yet another passion of mine and that is performance motorsports. Here are three generations of Ford GT and GT 40's I filmed at the Palmer Motorsports Park in Palmer Massachusetts. The cars range from the super rare 1 of 50 Ford GT 40 Race Cars that started the whole marque to an original GT 40 used by Ford in promotions and to help style the next generation the 2005 series Ford GT. (There are two of those in the video!) And there's two 2015 series Ford GTs (2017 models) here too! Thanks to all the owners letting us play with your really special cars for a day! Cambi al timone e poi lei. luna rossa. Appuntamento delle 14:10 immancabile. 3a3. Ancora tutta da giocare. Continuiamo a navigare verso nord ovest, ogni miglio, un miglio in meno a sabato. My name is Mark Reuten, and this video is part of the Poulsbo Boat Project, where I'm building a modern version of a 1950s-era Poulsbo sport fishing boat originally designed and built by Roland Young of Poulsbo Washington, USA. In this episode, I begin fairing the backbone and molds in preparation for planking. Along the way I troubleshoot a few issues, sharpen my hand planes, and work through the process of creating smooth, fair surfaces that will ultimately define the shape of the hull. Fairing is one of the most important steps in boatbuilding. Taking the time to get the backbone, stem, transom, and molds working together as one continuous surface pays dividends throughout the rest of the build. Episode 060 Anyone who is about to or who has done an offshore passage before I’m sure can appreciate how Adam is feeling. There’s a saying in the sailing community that says ‘the hardest part is letting go the dock lines’. I think it’s fair to say that we were all feeling a little bit nervous and excited. Some more than others. The passage we were about to embark on is no mean feat. Sailing to and from New Zealand is one of the passages many sailors worry about the most because of New Zealand’s location to the roaring 40s, and at this time of year, New Zealand’s weather becomes dominated by the low pressure systems from the Tasman. These low pressure systems move higher and become more frequent which means we have shorter suitable weather windows to leave. For this ocean passage, we’d be sailing 1200 nautical miles leaving from Opua, in the Bay of Islands New Zealand, situated at latitude 35 to Savusavu, Fiji, situated at latitude 16. We were invited for showers at the Fishguard Bay Yacht Club. Unfortunately the timing meant a dinghy ride across the exposed harbour in a fairly strong Northerly wind and a falling tide. As we turned in we had one wave that came close to tipping us over and then I turned and we started surfing. One wave broke just as it reached us and quite a lot of water came in over the stern. Once we made it in we were rather shaken, wondering how we would manage to get out through the surf. In the end we realised that if we waited 4 hours the tide would be coming in and deep enough that we could sneak out around the harbour wall with the breakers further into the harbour. So we went for a long walk, coffee and some food shopping. The trip back was much less eventful.
