Mit diesem Video startet eine kleine Serie, die genau das zum Inhalt hat, wie plant man so eine Reise, mit welchem Zeitaufwand muss man rechnen, welcher technischer Voraussetzungen bedarf es. In den nächsten Monaten werden auf diesem Kanal weitere Videos zu diesem Thema erscheinen, Besonderheiten, Entfernungen und Schleusentechnik einzelner Flüsse und Kanäle werden näher beleuchtet. Als wir vor unserer Reise zu diesem Thema recherchierten waren die Ergebnisse unbefriedigend. Ein Thema wird bewusst ausgeklammert, welche Scheine und Zulassungen werden benötigt, den das variiert von Land zu Land. Hier sollte sich man an die Schifffahrtsbehörden im eigenen Land wenden, um die richtige Antwort zu bekommen. Als Österreicher habe ich vor der Reise extra das "Schiffsführerpatent 10m für Seen, Flüsse und Wasserstraßen bis 10m", umgangssprachlich auch "Donaupatent" genannt erworben. Dazu hatte ich auch unser nationales UKW Funkzeugnis und die erforderliche Betriebslizenz. Unser Schiff Squib hat den österreichischen Seebrief, erst nach unserer Reise habe ich erfahren, dass auch noch eine Binnenzulassung nötig gewesen wäre. Auf beiden Reisen wurde ich kein einziges Mal danach gefragt, anders hätte es sicher ausgesehen wäre es zu einem Unfall gekommen.
