27,000 nautical miles, 27 locations and 16 months later, the Oyster World Rally 2024-25 fleet completed their life-changing circumnavigation when they returned to Nelson's Dockyard, Antigua, on April 4th 2025. The fleet began their journey in January 2024, heading from Antigua through the Caribbean and into the Panama Canal. After stopovers in the Galapagos Islands and the Marquesas Islands, a 3,200-mile passage saw them arrive in French Polynesia for several weeks of exploration. Heading across to Australia, into Indonesia and then round the Cape of Good Hope to South Africa, it was in 2025 that they began the final stint. Enjoying the remote island of St Helena, carnival in Salvador and Recife and then a final cruise from Grenada back into Nelson's Dockyard to cross the finish line. Summing up a circumnavigation is not an easy task, but the memories and sentiment of the fleet remained autonomous - it truly was the adventure of a lifetime. Trotz niedrigem Wasserstand wagten sich 20 gemeldete Boote an die Startlinie und konnten traumhafte Segelbedingungen genießen. Die Herausforderung bei dieser Regatta ist die Ausdauer. Denn eine Langstrecken Regatta über 24 Stunden, lässt die Augen schon mal schwer werden. Eins sei schon mal gesagt: alle Boote kamen auch sicher wieder im Hafen an. Wir freuen uns auf nächstes Jahr.
