We went to sailing school in February so that we could do this. We rented a sailboat and we're sailing in the Grand Traverse Bay. We're starting with a quick boat tour. Then, day 2 daily recap in Norrhport, MI: After anchoring overnight in Ingalls Bay, we got up and had a nice leisurely morning. There being no wind, we motored to Catshead Bay where we anchored a little offshore. Kent swam to the beach and gathered a handful of Petoskey stones. Then we made our way over to Northport where we parked the boat in a marina. We walked into Northport and enjoyed some really good tacos and now we're overnighting in the marina. Our sails from Huahine, via Tahaa and Aitutaki, tho the Hapa’i island group in Tonga. We changed our passage plan en route, to avoid some bad weather and re-routed to Aututaki instead of Niue. We then picked up even more trouble, running aground on a reef just outside Arutanga harbour in Aututaki. The boat was nearly holed and thanks to some Kiwi sailors and the local dive operation, Bubbles, we managed to escape, still afloat. From Aututaki to Tonga was some unwelcome weather and again we rerouted from Nuku’alofa, to Lifuka island. They call it the dangerous middle of the Pacific and we now know why!

The fourth video in the 360 series places you in the cockpit of VRED4 Björn ( Shaggy ) Evans during the transition from Cygnet to Phoenix Bend. In the video, you will hear VRED7 call GO! followed by 6!, which is the queue for VRED´s 4-5-8-9 transition forward to fly line abreast of VRED2 & VRED3. Phoenix is a very demanding maneuver that puts all pilots skills to the test, especially in the right reversal at the end!

Four RCSSC members enjoyed a day's sailing, Mediterranean like conditions on the beautiful and relaxing Rutland Water - so good to see so many boats, people out and about sailing, cycling, walking, playing or lazing along the shores. F2-3 nice and easy way to get your sailing hand back in. Boats recovered and ready for next time, just time for a welcome cool drink on the veranda chatting and looking out across the water.
