Nosso sistema de sobrevivência incluía dois dessalinizadores manuais — um equipamento cansativo que produz 6 litros de água por hora de bombeamento — painéis solares flexíveis, um dínamo de popa para gerar energia e redundância em tudo: dois rádios, dois GPS e um localizador Inmarsat que enviava nossa posição a cada três horas. Com a costa do Chile desaparecendo no horizonte, a nova rotina se impõe. Zum Inhalt: Erneut bezwinge ich den Atlantik, diesmal auf der anspruchsvolleren Nordroute. In der Karibik ankert die Jambo in den schönsten Buchten. Doch dann dreht der Wind! Nach dem Glück folgt die Katastrophe. Denn auf dem Weg zu den Azoren bricht der Mast der Jambo. Ich kann mich und das Boot retten und erreiche mit Mühe St. Martin. Die Jambo braucht einen neuen Mast und die Geschichte nimmt ihren Lauf. Im Nachhinein weiß ich nicht, was schlimmer war: den Mast zu verlieren oder einen neuen zu bekommen. In this video, we step aboard the Marcopolo MP12, an all-new Italian adventure yacht that combines a distinctive explorer-inspired design with the performance and versatility of an outboard-powered cruiser. At 12.7 metres long and just over 4 metres wide, the MP12 makes impressive use of its dimensions. Its broad, flared bow creates a huge amount of usable space forward, while the modular aft layout can be configured around either entertaining or relaxing on the water. Fold-down bulwarks further open up the aft deck, creating an unusually spacious connection with the sea. Performance is also a key part of the MP12's character. Its three-step hull was developed using CFD to provide stability and balance at speed, while the boat can accommodate up to three 450hp outboards. The enclosed hardtop and cruiser layout also make the MP12 a genuinely versatile boat, designed to move between open-air day boating and more comfortable overnight cruising. Below deck, the MP12 offers two cabins and four berths, alongside a bathroom with a separate shower. The interior combines natural wood, technical materials and automotive-inspired Dinamica upholstery to create a surprisingly refined environment for a boat with such a strong adventure focus.
