The final day of the U.S. Disabled Sailing Championships saw six new champions crowned in frustratingly light conditions on San Diego Bay. Today we look at a very close finish in the Liberty class between Russell Phillips and Carwile LeRoy and hear from regatta coach and Paralympic Coach Betsy Alison. In days 1 and 2 videos, we heard from now-champions Mike Strahle, who sailed with Donna DeMarest in the Martin 16 class, and Andy Fisher, who came back with three more wins today in the Capri 22 class. Monday AM at the sailing Emporium, Rock Hall, MD and hurricane Sandy is starting to affect us. The primary concern is losing power and for how long. I am riding a bike to the beach area, about 4 miles one way, to get a view of the Bay. Video

On Day 2, San Diego delivered enough consistent breeze to sail three more races at the 2012 U.S. Disabled Sailing Champs. Today, meet Capri sailor Andy Fisher, whose team had three first-place finishes on the water (though one was later erased at a protest hearing) and Cristina Rubke, commodore of BAADS (Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors), the organization with the most representation in the Access Dinghy Liberty and 303 classes.

After buzzing the pontoons at the Southampton Boat Show and showing up all those bland production multihulls, Dazcat 1150 Drama Queen popped over to Bembridge Sailing Club on the Isle of Wight to meet up with other dedicated multihullers for a weekend of racing. Well, almost a weekend - Sunday's weather saw the racing cancelled.
