At first glance, this 1925 chapel looks like any other small quaint log structure. It's not until the crowds have all gone and only the sound of the wind is left, that you really start to see the history here. Take time to reflect as you sit on one of the old wooden pews, notice the detail, watch the light through the stained glass windows and listen to the buzz of the flies. Imagine the weddings, funerals and pleading prayers that been witnessed in same seat you occupy. You may leave with your mind in a different form that when you arrived. We spent 6 weeks in NZ experiencing as many places, activities, accommodations, food and modes of transportation as we possibly could. We scheduled everything via internet and our 6-week vacation went without a hitch ... amazing and a testimonial to the quality of NZ tourism operators. This film in several parts shows you what we did so you get ideas of what to visit yourself! Look on www.TropicalSailingLife.com for a detailed pdf document that details all operators' details. This trip took place in 2003 so some info might not be current anymore but it certainly will give you a good overview of NZ tourism
This computer animation illustrates why a trawler with flattened aft sections of the hull is difficult to steer, especially in a following sea. Many if not most trawler brands have some form of flattened aft section of the hull, so it's important to understand these principles if you are looking at a trawler.
A crossing taken in stride by our brave adventures.

This is a fine example of Sealine's SC29 innovative sports coupe with only 140 engine hours. The twin-stepped hull, designed by Ocke Mannerfelt, offers a stable ride and fantastic handling. The u-shaped cockpit can seat up to six adults in comfort for al fresco dining, or an extra double berth or sunbed. The full length convertible roof canopy can be opened or closed in a few seconds giving the passengers that open air feeling. https://www.yachts.co Unit 1 Fishmarket Quay Swansea Marina SA11UP 01792 465550 Info@yachts.co
Four friends set out on a journey they would never forget. Ok, so three made it to the top, but here is a video of the point just before we lost a member to fatigue. Crystal, Dave and I ventured forth and made our way to the beautiful scenery of the Eastern Ridge of Oahu, Hawaii. Viewable were the entire coastlines of both south and east directions including Pearl Harbor. One of the most intense hikes to date. This was just a small vlog as I gear up to be more active on this account with posting videos, etc.

Somebody gave me a copy of that funny movie while we were running the M/V Caribbean Explorer in the Caribbean. Very well made and a classic! Sorry I don't know the authors of this great film.

On Friday August 29thth, the Marshall Islands Public School system joined other key allies in a long awaited assault on non-communicable diseases (NCD's), Marshall Islands Middle School, has agreed to become a "Pilot Project School" for what has been dubbed by its designers as the "Emergency Comprehensive Health Initiative". "This program will provide students the tools they need to combat NCD's like Obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes", said Majuro Middle School Principal Lenn Lenja & Majuro Middle School Vice-Principal Atte Lang "Our objectives are pretty simple 1) to teach every child about chronic NCD's, what causes them, how to avoid them, and if necessary, how to reverse them. 2) to facilitate a new focus on Physical Education, Recreation, and a lifelong fitness-oriented lifestyle. "This movement is the product of extensive collaboration among various government agencies and officials including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Wellness Center, and the World Diabetes Foundation" said Kumit Wellness Center Director Denis Yates. " In addition to the education and fitness components of the program, we will also teach gardening as an important skill and we will work with the schools to redouble efforts at providing healthy food choices for students during the school day, said Yates. "We are just thrilled that we're getting started with the program at our school, added Principal Lenja. I'm so very thankful for the leadership and teamwork we're seeing from the community and our staff here at the middle school. I'm very proud of them. Everyone has worked tirelessly to help us get to this point. The time is right," said the Principal "According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 80% of all Type II diabetes, Heart disease, Obesity, and Obesity related ailments can be prevented or remedied by the kinds of things we will be teaching the students to do," Yates said. "We've been partnered with the Ministry of Health and doing important work for many years. Now, with the Ministry of Education, the schools, and many of the churches joining in, we believe we can get the kind of programs in place that can set the stage for victory. This is one of the things that is so amazing and so motivating, this can be done," said the Wellness center director. "The transition back to traditional local foods and an active lifestyle is, for the most part, all that's needed. I believe the time is right and everyone agrees, we owe this to our children," said Yates. "Again, we are very thankful for the help of everyone involved and we are truly excited. This effort will not only be successful, but it will also be empowering and lots of fun. Teachers, administrators, students, and parents alike will have a great time taking part in this dramatic move towards victory over diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity related ailments that are now causing premature death and great cost to the people, government, and communities of the RMI. If we do this well, our new partnerships will mark the return to the traditional health, wellness and exciting, positive active lifestyle, the people of the RMI enjoyed just a short time ago" he said.

Some dive instructors working on the M/V Caribbean Explorer just before we came onboard did start the "No Standard Diving Association" series of funny videos made by crew and passengers during the live-aboard dive cruises. I continued this line of fun videos with the "New Standard Diving Association". This film contains some of the favorite clips. This film is dedicated to all good crews and passengers we met during our running of this great live-aboard dive operation. Filmed in the late 90'
This is what crew and passengers have fun doing while on a dive week on the M/V Caribbean Explorer. This film is one of my early tries at fiction movies!
