When spring finally arrives, they pull back the tarp and add split pipe to round off the pilot house and cabin side edges. Then they proceed with the cabin top and pilot house roof, decide on the best design for steps up to the poop deck, and use more split pipe to round off the cockpit coaming--no sharp lines for this yacht!

After extensive research, they decide to build their own 43 foot sailboat out of steel. They find a house in rural Alberta, Canada to serve as their construction site. After spending nine months rennovating their new home, acquiring the necessary tools to work with steel, including welders, they finally begin construction on their boat. The first step is to trace plans for the webbing frames on a steel sheet then cut them out using a plasma saw. Next they cut the radius sections, built a strongback as a support, errect and brace the web frames. By the end of the episode, they have a skeleton structure that's starting to look like a boat.

Primeiro teste do leme de vento "caseiro". Note a precisão e rapidez dos movimentos. Mantem o barco em linha reta, sem entrar em pêndulo ou movimentos parasitas. Acho que vou industrializá-lo.

The Chagos archipelago, which is part of BIOT (British Indian Ocean Territory), was inhabited until the 70's, when the British leased the atoll of Diego Garcia to the United States to make an airbase. See www.walkabout.it The inhabitants who had settled in the archipelago since several centuries before and lived gathering coconuts and extracting the oil where , for security reasons were relocated and deported en masse in their islands of origin: Mauritius. Currently, the islands were declared a marine park and thanks to their isolation is one of the few remaining untouched paradises on earth. _________________________________________________________________________ Guarda le nostre crociere in barca vela https://www.walkaboutcharter.com _________________________________________________________________________ Segui Sailing Walkabout: YouTube: iscriviti e attiva la campanella 🔔 http://bit.ly/2S6nW6G Leggi il blog del giro del mondo in barca a vela https://www.walkabout.it/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/WalkaboutCharter Instagram su Facebook https://www.facebook.com/WalkaboutCharter

Ida Satersdal started sailing Snipes in 2000 and she's already been to two Women's World Championships. She had a Snipe fleet in her town in Norway and a skipper that kept asking her to come out and catch a ride. That's a perfect way to be introduced. Even though Ida learned to sail in big boats, for her the Snipe defines sailing -- both its complexity and its easy to pick up skills. She talks about how its not just about learning the mechanics of sail shape and boat handling, but all the other skills that need to be mastered too -- like reading the wind and weather patterns and of course tactics. Coming to Florida in November for the 2010 Snipe Women's World Championship sounded like a wonderful idea.

Each year The Jeanneau and Hunter owners group / Dealership put on a Rendezvous at Catalina Island where there are tons of activities from hiking to kayaking, diving with a great offshore wind for serious sailing. These are some of the pictures that I gathered on our last trip to the island. We had some great sailing adventures that week. If you would like to join us for next year's Rendezvous or are interested in a new or used yacht please feel free to contact me at any time day or night. I look forward to hearing back from you. For more information and pricing on this new Jeanneau 439 sailboat please contact Ian Van Tuyl at 1-619-507-4416 or ianvt@cruisingyachts.net I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Ian VT « Simply naturally Beautiful » At first glance, she is clearly a Sun Odyssey. Moreover, the all-new Sun Odyssey 439 reflects the latest design trend that started with the Sun Odyssey 409. Dynamic lines, a hard chine on the hull, lots of hatches and windows along with bevelled edges on the deck combine to form a powerful and straight forward design from the pen of Philippe Briand. But her natural beauty is more than skin deep. A closer look reveals an innovative deck plan that makes sailing easy. A Jeanneau is first, and foremost, for sailing. Three main concepts shape the Sun Odyssey 439: a fast, seaworthy sailboat, simple to use deck and sail plans and a high-quality interior

Tarasa Davis has been sailing Snipes since she was five years old and crewed for Brad McFadden. She wanted to crew for her dad, but that position was taken by her mom. She is an extremely competitive sailor who has years of experience in the Snipe class as well as in Olympic Competition. For her, it's all about sailing with the very best. She recounts how the Snipe Class treats its members more like family and she stresses how competitive the Class is while still remaining helpful and friendly.
In August 2010 Cruising Yachts had a Jeanneau and Hunter sailboat rendezvous trip for all of the owners where we sailed up the coast to Mission bay and had a raft up. We brought in a party barge where we had catered a local Mexican restraint to feed all of us one evening. The Food was amazing and the margaritas where flowing. That same evening we had a clients band set up shop on the stern of a Hunter 50cc playing live music for the entire cove to enjoy. It was a great event and if you are a boat owner or interested in buying a boat for next year's Rendezvous please contact me at any time day or night. I look forward to hearing from you. These pictures were taken of a 2009 3200 SF that I sold and delivered out of San Diego California. I tried to capture the whole experience from what it looks like when the yacht is delivered to the boat yard to the test sail on delivery day. The second half of the pictures were taken in Annapolis MD where we first sea trilled a dealer demo boat in freezing conditions from snow to sun and with winds ranging from 25+kts to 5kts. It was a great day seeing how the vessel sailed in all of the different conditions. Needless to say we were all very impressed and that lead to the sail of the first 3200sf in the states. Molly grew up in San Diego, one of the hotbeds of Snipe sailing. She didn't race Snipes very much, but she was in demand with some of the best Snipers when they needed pick up crew for the afternoon practices on the Bay. Why did she want to break into her Olympic campaign schedule with Anna Tunnicliffe and Debbie Capozzi to come sail at the Snipe Women's Worlds in Florida? All her friends in the class had been telling her the competition at Snipe events is strong and and the people at the regatta will help you make the boat go fast. That's exactly what she found. The racing was very tight but even so people would come up to her with suggestions on how to make the boat go faster. Winning the event made the competition and the learning curve that much sweeter.
A Gold medal at the 2008 Olympics. An Olympic match racing campaign that's well underway. Why does someone with those aspirations come to sail at the Snipe Women's Worlds in Florida? The short answer is that the competition is strong and and the competitors make you feel welcome. A longer answer involves wanting to hone fleet racing skills with your teammate in a tough light air venue after months of short course match racing. It was a challenge to work on boat speed over a long beat or a longer run against some of the best women sailors in the world. Winning the event in the last race was an added bonus.
http://www.mauiwindsurfing.net Big surf and strong winds rock Hookipa. As usual, Levi Siver and Mark Angulo dominate, boosting big aerials and mutants, shredding lips and throwing spray.

A couple of years ago I was sent to France to learn more about the product and see firsthand how the Jeanneau yachts where built. Being one of the largest yacht manufactures in the world this tour took over two days and what an impressive factory to tour. Starting with the design team and ending with the quality control crew in the wet tanks to make sure that the product being shipped all over the world was properly tested and holds to Jeanneau's very high standards.
