Palau is een paradijs voor duikers! Het bestaat uit 200 eilandjes, de meeste onbewoond. De dichtbegroeide, grillig gevormde eilanden worden omgeven door water in de meest onwaarschijnlijke kleuren blauw. Ontmoetingen met haaien staan veelvuldig op het programma. Schildpadden, grote scholen tonijnen, barracuda’s, murenes, jackfish en Napoleons zijn dagelijkse kost. In de cleaning stations German Channel en Devilfish City worden zeer regelmatig Manta Rays gespot. Voeg hierbij de prachtige onderwaterlandschappen (steile drop-offs, blue holes, ...) en de enorme hoeveelheden vis en je weet waaraan Palau zijn naam als absolute topduikbestemming dankt. Tenslotte kan ook de wrakduiker hier zijn hartje ophalen. Rond Palau liggen zo’n 30 Japanse scheepswrakken uit WOII. Ook voor snorkelaars is Palau een paradijs. Op de zeer kleurrijke riffen worden er tussen de grote scholen vis regelmatig haaien waargenomen. Spectaculair is ook het Jellyfish Lake dat duizenden kwallen – die door de afwezigheid van natuurlijke vijanden hun tentakels verloren – huisvest.
