After Swimming with whale sharks and marveling at rice terraces we headed to north Luzon. We went caving visited a massive cave system outside the town of Sagada. And jumped in the water whenever we could to check out the sea life while snorkeling. In this week's video, Boat VS Snow, I get my first significant snowfall on board, introduce a new crew member and we show you how to make a stove-top potato parsnip dish called "Rogues Roots" designed for cooking underway over long passages. If you like my videos, please SUBSCRIBE to see more, and be sure to give this video a like, Thanks! In August of 2017 I sold everything and moved aboard Balachandra, a 1986 C&C44 sailboat, then sailed it over 300 nautical miles to Halifax Nova Scotia to spend a cold Canadian winter in the frozen waters of the North Atlantic. Sailing Balachandra is my YouTube sailing vlog inspired by other great channels such as Delos and La Vagabonde, which documents the sailing adventures of myself and the occasional crewmembers(s) as we navigate the east coast of North America and beyond. I also dive into lots of DIY boat projects both above and below decks, and share with you all of the pros and cons of living aboard in a cold climate. Sailing Balachandra is published weekly so please subscribe so you don't miss out on future videos! Here is a very short video of a boat you just don't see that often. When you do see one you notice it though. While filming the 2015 DeFever Liberty our camera operator caught this baby flying out of the Ballard Locks and he ripped off a couple of seconds of footage. Not all that much to see here but if you like boats like we do you may find this worth watching.
This week, we take you on a journey from Road Town to Norman Island, to Peter Island.. Enjoy! For more info, head over to - https://proteusyachtcharters.com/ Or Email us at: info@proteusyachtcharters.com
**NOW SOLD** Vanetta is a Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 423 that is now proudly and exclusively for sale with YOTI. http://www.yoti.com.au/listing/beneteau-oceanis-423-clipper-vanetta Built in France in 2004 by Beneteau Yachts and designed by the world renowned naval architects, Group Finot, the 423 has been an extremely popular large volume cruising yacht worldwide. This boat presents extremely well. She has had a re-rig in May of 2017 and was slipped and anti-fouled in September of 2017, so she is ready to head off to new horizons with her new owners. Below decks, the 423 is extremely voluminous and is well suited for extended cruising and or live aboard, with a three double cabin layout, twin heads (fwd cabin with en-suite) and large, in-line galley. Some of the notable features and upgrades to Vanetta are the 2 Lewmar electric primary winches and the port side electric house winch, full electronics package including autopilot, factory ordered and fitted hard waring non-scratch floor and the double bow rollers to allow for an anchor and a mooring line simultaneously. One of the outstanding features of these yachts is the beautifully designed walk-through access through the transom and out onto the sugar-scoop stern/swim platform, which incorporates a large fold down swim ladder and a hot and cold deck shower. All very functional and pleasant for those hot days on the water when swimming off the back of the boat is a priority. Please contact Peter Milton for more details and to arrange an inspection. info@yoti.com.au +61 02 9979 4043

Episode 16. Sailing Rome to Elba. What a city Rome is! After the scariest entry into a marina ever, in fact, we were no where near experienced enough to have attempted the entry to the river in the conditions but somehow we made it in. Other yachts on their way out saw what we went thru and promptly turned back around for home. But we made it into Rome and had a blast, nowhere does food like Italy and we found a gem of a restaurant, saw as many sights as we could and welcomed my best mate Nathan to join us for the next week. As usual the fish are not biting but at least this week we have the confidence to try and fly our gennaker again. Sailing is all about experience and there’s only one way to get it… Keep on trying. ▶ Check out my gear on Kit: https://kit.com/followtheboat Trying to find a place to anchor near reefs which don't appear on your navigation chart is fraught with danger and means sailing by eyeball only! Once safe, we added a few annotations to Navionics to help the next people who come to these remote deserted islands. Sailing and provisioning is high up on any sailor's list of priorities, so we needed to find people. After weeks far from any settlements in the Anambas our fresh food was running low, so we were relieved when Google Earth showed us there was a small town nearby. There was no name, just buildings along the coastline, and it didn't appear on the chart or any of our navigation devices, but it was definitely there. Laden proved to be a fertile provisioning ground, so we stocked up! After a gift of fresh mango, we headed off to our next island playground in the direction of Moon Rock Bay... 💖 If you enjoy or have even learned something from our videos, please LIKE, COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE to our channel! 🥂JOIN PATREON & TELL US WHERE TO GO NEXT! https://www.patreon.com/followtheboat *************************************** 🛒 FOLLOWTHEBOAT SHOP: https://followtheboat.com/shop *************************************** 🕮 E-BOOKS: HOW TO BECOME A LIVEABOARD CRUISER! Our time in Cuba was marked by extreme disbelief that we were actually cruising and using Atticus as a means to get somewhere new! In this episode, we explore a kookie artist's workshop just outside of Havana called Fusterlandia, and then leave Havana behind to explore the quieter North West Coast of Cuba. We sail to Bahia Honda en route to Cayo Levisa. We cheese it up as a newly engaged and newly cruising couple, and talk about what it's like to finally be living our dream! Did you like this video? Tenerife island is the largest of the Canary Islands. And we're sailing around it. Our circumnavigation takes us to the southern part of the island. Where the tourist resorts are, some good anchorages and Los Gigantes, The Giants. And the sailing goes from dead calm to sporty in just minutes. We moor at Garachico and have good look at the charming village. Please make your voice heard: Subscribe, like, dislike, or comment.
