Rispetto al 2022, ho un anno di più e, se possibile, anche qualche acciacco di salute in più. Sono arrivato a Salerno navigando da solo a bordo della mia piccole, dolce Horus e ce l'abbiamo fatta senza eccessivi problemi. Ma rispetto allo scorso anno, ho sentito più forte la stanchezza. Navigare non risollce i problemi, ma aiuta a poensare ad altro, a pensare a cose più belle. Per esempio, doppiano Capo Palinuro, è inevitabile confrontarsi con la storia e con la mitologia. E passando debitamente al largo da Punta Licosa, ci si ricorda che a mare la prudenza non è un optional. Poi, all'arrivo ai pontili della Lega Navale, un bagno di affetto con amici che mi vogliono bene e che lo scvorso anno mi hanno salvato la vita. Letteralmente.

After lots of preparation, we finally set sail from Panama to cross the Pacific Ocean on our Leopard 47 catamaran. Things start out well as we catch a couple of fish and fly our spinnaker in the light winds but eventually we get stuck in the doldrums and the engine has to take over. We provisioned heavily with extra diesel supplies and this is our first opportunity to try out our drill pump to re-fuel our tanks underway. This is the first episode in our Pacific Crossing series. Si nous avions acheté un bateau parfait dès le début, nous n’aurions jamais autant appris sur la structure de voilier ni sur la façon de faire une inspection préliminaire par nous-mêmes, mais ça nous aurait causé beaucoup moins de stress et nous aurions pu continuer notre route beaucoup plus rapidement. Dans cet épisode, nous abordons les erreurs suivantes : - Acheter sans effectuer des recherches approfondies sur ce type de bateau. - Faire un achat émotionnel et trop rapide. - Acheter un bateau hors de notre budget. - Ne pas inspecter le bateau de fond en comble avant l’expertise. - Ne pas choisir un bon expert maritime. - Ne pas faire sortir le bateau de l’eau pour une expertise. - Ne pas faire un essai à la voile en mer avant d’acheter. - Penser qu’un bateau qui a fait des traversées d’océan est un bon achat. - Mal évaluer nos besoins présents et futurs. - Ne pas poser suffisamment de questions.
