When old friends Rus and Fiona came to visit we were introduced to the 'I Like It Here' dance, a kind of tribal ritual that has to be carried out whenever one feels the need to express one's delight upon discovering a new place. This is a very important ceremony that must be executed with complete dedication. In this clip you'll see three experts carry out the 'I Like It Here' dance with great gusto. The lyrics were adapted to 'I Like It Up Here' to accomodate the location. [] www.followtheboat.com [] * tales from the high seas *
We've gone on about Knidos at great length, and it features in this movie section a few times too, so here's some evidence of why we keep going on about it! This clip had to be edited because everywhere we turned there was another relic or ruin or structure. It was too much to take in so this is just a little example of what Knidos is all about.
Chris and Jamie donned their walking boots and took a hike up to the top of Knidos peak. The reward was a breathtaking view in both directions, with the low sun in the west and views back across Mersincik towards the north.
One place that we visited often in 2005 was Gumusluk. We took every visitor we had there and everyone loved it's ambiance. Unlike the other resorts on the Bodrum Peninsular this one was not spoilt by development and loud, crap music. Best of all are a couple of walks one can do and this is the view from the highest peak in the area. [] www.followtheboat.com [] * tales from the high seas *
Mersincik is an anchorage that we've visited a few times now and it never ceases to impress. The dramatic sheer cliff faces mount a bright rising moon whilst the red setting sun casts eerie shadows across the bay. Just off the beach is this little cove and if you're lucky you get it for yourself for the night. [] www.followtheboat.com [] * tales from the high seas *
Green. Lush. Heady. Exquisite. Looking at this clip makes me pine (pine, geddit?) for a return visit.
An exploration into the undergrowth and proof that Turkey is not all stark, dry countryside.
Yet another little anchorage rarely visited. Here the Fish Bwoy takes in the beautiful view from Kucuk Cati across to Amazon Creek. We literally spent half an hour here, just stopping off for a swim because we fancied it! [] www.followtheboat.com [] * tales from the high seas *
After a rough but fun return from English Harbour (about 35 miles) we completed the final approach under engine and took in the sunset across Bodrum. Shortly afterwards I stacked it in the marina but fortunately that's not captured on video! [] www.followtheboat.com [] * tales from the high seas *

S'art, innit? Another great view of Knidos. You really must go and visit it sometime!
We were very fortunate to arrange for one of our friends to board another boat and film Esper under sail. Although the camera work is a little shakey in places (it was his first time using the cam) this still gives you a great idea of exactly what Esper looks like under sail: stunning. Just ignore the bad sail trim! [] www.followtheboat.com [] * tales from the high seas *
