Hope you will enjoy your new journey. Starting here in Tenerife, the Island you've loved coming so much for over 40 years. Now you can keep an eye out for us from every ocean, sea and lake around the world. Thank you again for being so shameless for we can't care what people think of us. Thank you for the ass wooping when we didn't listnen for we are not afraid to stand up for ourselfs. Thank you for teaching me to sail and surf for that is still what I enjoy every day. But most of all thank you for teaching us to follow our dreams, "Make a proffession out the things you like most and you'll never have to 'work' a day in your life" was your saying. To never give up, fall 8 times, stand up 9. Don't conform to what people expect, do what's right. And yes, you left us behind with a whole lot of shit! But know what, we can handle it, it made us to what we are today and I can say I a damn happy with that. A tight family, strong possitive and happy. And without all your shit I'd probably would'nt be on a boat being the happyest litlle pirate on the ocean. Had not written "Grand Hotel de Bajes" that is becoming a number one bestseller. And also, you'd still be in a jar on mom's bookshelf :) Happy travels dad. Your wife and sons. Familia para siempre

Rebuilding a historic sailing yacht – Shaping the Keel / Adze work (EP59) Support; http://sampsonboat.co.uk/support/ Become a Patron; http://www.patreon.com/sampsonboatco ----- EPISODE 59. In this episode, after roughing-out the starboard side Rabbet into the Stem, I make a jig to transfer the measurements for the shape of the Keel Timber from the lofting floor to the boat itself. Then I start working on actually shaping the keel to its final shape, firstly using a TurboPlane wheel on a Grinder, and then switching to a good ole’fashioned Adze. I also add some small pieces of Purpleheart to complete the shape of the Forefoot, and make a small book-stand for my hosts here. ---- To become a Patron - https://www.patreon.com/sampsonboatco To donate or support - http://sampsonboat.co.uk/support My Amazon Wishlist http://a.co/76y5IZP For sneaky previews of what’s going on in between Episodes, follow my FACEBOOK http://www.facebook.com/sampsonboatco and INSTAGRAM http://www.instagram.com/sampsonboatco. Crossing the Mediterranean on a sailboat from Malta to Spain: 900 nautical miles in 6 days! Video of how we dealt with my burn at sea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuxtQO6pqqo&t=168s We started our crossing from Malta, where we had been spending a couple of weeks prior to departure. The weather conditions were absolutely perfect for an East to West sailing passage at sea, with downwind all the way. Although we had to motor the first day, the rest of the passage was for the most part as glorious as it was uneventful. On the 5th day, I burned my leg while making coffee, and we considered re-routing the boat to get me to a hospital. But all things considered, we were fairly well equipped to deal with the injury until we’d arrived at destination, and we continued to Almerimar. This is our absolute longest video to date, and we hope you’ll enjoy it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** JOIN THE CREW! ** Join our virtual crew of Patrons at: https://www.patreon.com/ryanandsophiesailing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** MUSIC ** 🎶 In this video: Gabriel Meyer - Human (Artlist) Siny - Hainan paradise (Epidemic Sound) Swirling Ship - Reflection (Artlist) Vintage Harmonies (Epidemic Sound) Borrtex - Present Moment (Artlist) Michele Nobler - Joking Together (Artlist) Dawn, Dawn, Dawn - Tranquility Lane (Epidemic Sound) Stationary Sign - Starstruck by Luck(Epidemic Sound) Sindrandi - My island (Epidemic Sound) Allan Ellis - The weight of water (Epidemic Sound) Yehezkel Raz - Ballerina (Artlist) Geva Alon - Cross many oceans (Artlist) Hanjo Gabler - Folks of Barcelona (Artlist) Luna Keller - Packing my bags (Artlist) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** GEAR ** ⛵️Our boat: Polar Seal, 2007 Beneteau Oceanis 40, owners version (2 cabins layout). A road trip to the island of Orust! This is the epicenter for yacht building in Sweden and we take a look at two very different boats, a Forgus 52 and a Najad 391. This is part 2! Pictures from najad.se We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat Ran, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter in January 2016. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us. Owning a luxury yacht is the dream of many, and achievable for more people than you may think. Some busy business owners just don't have time to figure out the purchase process though, and so are put off exploring yacht ownership due to time constraints. This series of videos is designed to take the mystery out of yacht ownership, showing not only the process involved in buying a yacht but also the costs.

WATERMAKER PARTS EVERYWHERE!! Fixing a WONKY Install and TESTING IT OUT! As our departure from the US grows more imminent, the "tech" videos keep coming...this week, the watermaker! Happily, our boat came with a pretty nice Spectra watermaker. Sadly, it was installed by lunatics from an insane asylum. After much studying and inspection, it seemed less and less likely it was ever really used, especially considering the primary intake wasn't run properly. AND they had eliminated our microwave space and had run numerous hoses all the way to that space in the galley where they had mounted the valve panel. Nope. We decide to basically start over and consolidate all the pieces parts. But becoming less and less sure this thing was ever stored properly...will it actually make water that won't kill us?? Enjoy!! And be sure to SUBSCRIBE for WEEKLY CONTENT EVERY FRIDAY! Cheers!! Thanks for watching SailAway, the travel documentary of an adventurous sailing couple, plus toddler and dog, sailing the world! Congrats to Joachim Isler and Drew Taylor for winning IRC Class 1 in the 673-mile Hong Kong to Vietnam Race, an epic downwind ride from Hong Kong to the Asian paradise of Nha Trang, Vietnam. AMBUSH won IRC Class 1 impressively in 2 days 7 hours. "Our UK Sailmakers A2+ was our secret weapon this race," said Taylor. Impressively, AMBUSH averaged 13.6 knots for the windy downwind race that started Oct. 16th. Taylor proudly set the boat's speed record for the race at 25.95 knots.
