CHANGING our NOISY mooring lines! #sailing #boatlife #shorts

We had to change our mooring lines here in Ponta Delgada. The 'proper' ones that we usually use just made sooo much noise! After talking to a local, we were directed to the following shop: Honorato Moreira & Monteiro, Lda., Estr. Regional da Ribeira Grande 68A, 9500-296 Ponta Delgada Phone: 296 385 047 Walking from the direction of the marina, the shop is just past the prison on the same side of the road. We bought several lengths of 18mm line. The rope is actually sold by weight (?) but you ask for the length you want. They measure the rope and then weigh it. It worked out around 1 euro per metre. They only spoke Portuguese, so google translate is your friend here. They were really helpful and have a wide range of boating/fishing accessories. The polypropylene(?) mooring lines are so much quieter, and have good elasticity. The boat is much more pleasant to live on 😁 We also have mooring compensators.
