Right in the first couple of weeks after delivery of Greatcircle in Bordeaux the cat was tested in some challenging conditions. Flying from Gibraltar to Ibiza with over 50 knots of wind in the back. May have broken the all time speed record with a Lagoon with 27,2 knots.... Very happy to have an experienced skipper on board in the beginning so we could experience how well the 52S handles even in conditions like this. Since then Greatcircle has been cruising the Med and we recently decided to join the ARC at the end of 2019.

The next 150nm of ocean until we reached the Galapagos Islands was quite enjoyable. We saw the most incredible things in the water, I started hearing things and Riley got a tiny little crab in his ear after scraping the hull. Each day we spend on the water these days seems to be full of surprises. As the sun was rising, I spotted the island of San Cristobal. Seals galore. They stuffed up my salad (A SALAD) and the world gets to see grumpy Elayna. Muddy shoe walkers leaving muddy tracks onboard. Surrounded by bird watching/explorer humans in cargo gear. Epic diving in the southern atolls of the Maldives, the encounters with mantas, whale sharks, grey reef sharks, silky sharks, hammerheads were amazing. I would get up on deck and have a look around and just slowly shake my head every half an hour or so. We decided to tie off the stern to a mooring ball so as to be held in place and were able to ride out the night without one of the Bahamian famous squalls. The next day the weather had picked up making our anchorage less and less comfortable so we decided to leave before the next high tide and so I decided to drag along beside the boat until the worst of the reef had been passed. Following the construction of Icon's remarkable 68 meter explorer yacht "Ragnar" has been a unique and thrilling privilege, and one I am so happy to have been able to share with you. Recently the shipyard invited my team and I to visit the yacht as she was in her final stages of delivery. Lots of work was still going on on board, but we were able to film a unique glimpse of a vessel that is so much more than just another explorer yacht. She is a real ICON!

Delos, Delos this is the US COAST GUARD on 16 OVER! It’s not every morning you hear the US Coastguard calling you on the radio, then doing a close fly-by when you're anchored in the middle of no where. I definitely felt nervous as Brian answered the VHF call. We’re anchored in an incredible spot and with 0kn of wind its like our house is floating in a swimming pool. Brian heads out to catch some dinner before diving head first into some boat work that involves drilling a pretty big hole in the side of the boat :) If your in the mood for a little bit of everything good you will like this episode.
