In the last episode, we spent nearly 11 unforgettable days exploring the Marquesas Islands and were blown away from the moment we made landfall in Fatu Hiva. This time, we continue our adventure with another incredible 10 days in the Marquesas. But after so many amazing shark encounters in the Galápagos, we finally experienced something that felt a little different… 🦈😳 While Sarah was in the water, a shark seemed unusually interested and started following her — our first shark encounter that felt genuinely uncomfortable. Yet despite that moment, the Marquesas still managed to completely capture our hearts. ❤️ 🍖 Joined a BBQ party in Nuku Hiva and connected with fellow cruisers ⛵ Explored beautiful anchorages and hidden bays 🥖 Started making our own yogurt on board 🌿 Discovered the northern side of Nuku Hiva and met incredibly welcoming local farmers 🏝️ Had an entire anchorage to ourselves on Ua Huka 🏔️ Explored breathtaking landscapes unlike anywhere else we’ve been 🐋 Swam with majestic manta rays 🌊 Continued our journey to Hiva Oa 👋 Arrived just in time to pick up our next crew member in the next episode The Marquesas continue to surprise us every single day, and this adventure is far from over. 👍 If you enjoyed the episode, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and leave a comment!

Montreal is built on an island sitting on the St Lawrence and is the largest city in the Province of Quebec. More than three million people live in the Montreal region. It is home to some fairly monumental and iconic man-made creations. Among these would be the Olympic Stadium with its famous inclined tower. On the other hand, there is Old Montreal which is a historic neighbourhood in Canada with Parisian influence. Be transported back in time with cobblestone streets and 17th-century architecture. After 2½ unforgettable months in the Whitsundays, it was finally time to point ARGO north and begin our passage to Townsville. Over 5 days we meandered our way up the coast, treated to an incredible mix of moments – whales breaching nearby, Kym taking the helm as skipper, and the excitement of catching our very first Spanish mackerel (a monster at over a metre long!). With steady winds and some beautiful sails along the way, this leg of the journey was a reminder of why we love life afloat – the surprises, the challenges, and the pure joy of the sea. Watch as we leave the Whitsundays behind and embrace the next chapter of our sailing adventure. Thanks for watching. This week, we’re embarking on an exciting journey to South Africa to explore the future of yachting with the incredible new Voyage 510 catamaran. I’m your host, David Orton, and today, we’ll dive deep into the specifications, pricing, and layout of this marvel of engineering, comparing it with three similar new vessels. We’ll also ask, “What would Sylvia say?” as we take a full tour, uncovering innovations that make life aboard easier, and look at the used market for 3–5-year-old comparables. Finally, we’ll give it a “Dave Score” and see how it stacks up against our previously reviewed yachts. From high above Vancouver, we head southwest, circling the globe to the eastern shores of Australia and the home of last week’s yacht, the spectacular CURE 55. Then, we travel further west to the southern tip of Africa, to the esteemed yards of Voyage Yachts in Cape Town. Our journey doesn’t end there, as we then hop northeast to the vineyards of this week’s featured wine of the region, the BOLAND CELLAR’s Cappupino Ccinotage (Capoopeeno Cheenotajj) Coffee-style Pinotage. A Sip of South Africa The Boland Cellar’s Cappupino Ccinotage is a unique and proudly South African innovation. This wine masterfully combines the characteristic Pinotage fruit flavors with the rich layers of coffee and chocolate, creating a truly delightful experience. Sourced from mid-season ripening vineyards, the grapes produce a balanced, ripe fruit that leads to a smooth and lingering finish, perfect for pairing with barbequed meats like lamb chops and boerewors sausage. Naval Gazing Segment Two common concerns for world cruisers are being boarded at night and anchor dragging. Thankfully, there are solutions for both. Radar guard zones from Garmin and Simrad can alert you to approaching threats before they board. VisionAnchor S, the latest smart anchoring buoy, accurately tracks your anchor’s position with precision, reducing false alarms and providing peace of mind. Art of the Region We’ll also appreciate the cultural richness of South Africa with a beautiful acrylic on canvas painting by artists Alda & Sylvain Bikindou, depicting vibrant township life. The Bahamas always seem endless… but are they? 🌴⛵ In this episode, our family of seven living aboard full-time continues island-hopping down the Bahamian chain, making the most of every stop as we work our way toward the Windward Passage and eventually back to Panama. We leave the crystal-clear anchorage of Rudder Cay, point the bows south, and make a festive holiday stop in Georgetown, Elizabeth Harbor — a familiar place filled with good memories, friendly faces, and that unmistakable cruising community vibe. But this season is different. The weather windows are calling, the calendar is moving, and before we know it, we’re raising anchor once again. As quickly as we arrived, we’re gone — chasing the next island, the next anchorage, and the next adventure. That leaves us wondering: How many islands are left in the Bahamas? How many more can we explore before it’s time to cross the Windward Passage? Which ones will we actually get to see, and which will have to wait for another season? This is the reality of life aboard — balancing curiosity with timing, savoring each stop while knowing you can’t see it all. Along the way, we’re continuing to learn our new catamaran, dial in passages, and keep things fun, safe, and memorable for our kids as we sail farther south. If you love family sailing, real cruising life, island hopping, and big-picture adventure, come along as we chase horizons and make the most of every mile. 👉 Subscribe to follow our journey south 👍 Like & comment — how many Bahamian islands do you think we’ll reach before we leave?
