Hi everyone and welcome to our channel. In this episode we are taking you to Guatemala in Rio Dulce where we are lifting the boat for maintenance. We are trying to show you some of modifications we are doing into the boat. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay because we had to go back to France for my sister wedding. But our Aupair Diana stayed and was in charge to manage all and to look after the dog. Enjoy this video and see you in two weeks for the next episode. Like Abraham Lincoln said “ In the end, it’s not the years in your life count, it’s the life in your years” ….. Enjoy !!! La Rochelle welcomed Vendée Globe finishers Benjamin Dutreux and Clarisse Crémer with open arms after they couldn't enter the channel at Les Sables d'Olonne due to rough seas. We take a look at the scenes and hear from Clarisse Cremer on the shore. We then hear from Boris Herrmann, as both he and Sam Davies try to pass Cape Finisterre in a small lull between the storms. We bring you updates from them, and then Kojiro Shiraishi at the equator and Violette Dorange making a delicious dinner at sunset. We then look at the Tracker, Leaderboard and PredictWind routing options for Romain Attanasio in 14th. We conclude with updates from Kojiro Shiraishi in a lumpy sea in the North Atlantic and Oliver Heer from half way up the mast. #vg2024 #imoca #vendeeglobe #sailing

#aluminumboat #aluminumsailboat #aluminumboatbuilder We recently asked Luc Jurien, the CEO at Alubat, to walk us through what is involved in the painting process, and there's no question about it, building an aluminum sailboat is more challenging than building a fiberglass one. Unlike fiberglass boats that are primarily built around molds, it requires a highly skilled workforce to build an aluminum hull. In fact, an aluminum hull at Alubat spends nearly four weeks in the paint shop alone, that's typically the same amount of time it takes to build and commission a fiberglass boat of the same size.

This video shows the very simple steps to set up and operate a Rainman Portable Watermaker to produce pure, fresh, drinking water from the sea onboard a boat via reverse osmosis. It’s also our honest, totally unsponsored, review of the system after using it on Our Dreamtime for the past three years, long enough to really know the product. We discuss an initial problem we had with the unit and the company’s response plus the availability of spares and service. We also test the units rate of production and compare it against the advertised figures and, finally, we give you our verdict on whether we think the Rainman option is a thumbs up or down. We hope you find it interesting and also check out our regular Dreamtime Sail Episodes dedicated to our full time, cruising life in Australia and South East Asia. Through Patreon or Ko-fi you can support our video productions for less than price of a coffee per episode. When the freezer runs dry and the rain keeps falling in the Wrangell shipyard, sometimes the wild provides exactly what you need. In this episode, Scott and Audrey of Alaskan Gypsy Life take a break from boat work and head into the backroads of Wrangell, Alaska hoping to fill the freezer. The first couple of evenings are spent hunting after long days in the shipyard, short trips with little daylight. By Day 3, we’re out of meat and feeling the urgency. With more time and early morning light, we hike deeper into the mossy forest of Southeast Alaska, hopeful to bring home dinner. From the steep climb and unpredictable terrain to the moment of harvest and gratitude, this story captures the raw heart of sustenance, respect, and Alaskan living. 🦌 Filmed in Wrangell, Alaska 🎥 A look into off-grid life, wild food, and the rhythm of survival. 💬 Subscribe for more: life aboard the Alaskan Gypsy, boat refit updates, hunting, fishing, and stories from coastal Alaska.
